Hi to you all,
Myself, husband, three children, and both sets of grandparents will also be on the Sept. 6th cruise. Our son Lukas will turn 4 on September 11th. We live in Portugal but I am originally Canadian. Our sons are Kevin (6), Lukas (4), and Mikel (3 months). We got upgraded and also got refunded money after the price went down. I am so excited that I am already packed!

Already packed!?! I'm still looking for birth cert. and shopping. I took my friend that's going , to Penny's BIG clearance sale, today. She found a long formal dress for about $35. She's never cruised before, and keeps asking me, "Are you sure everybody's going to be dressed like this? I'm not going to feel out of place, or overdressed, am I?"

LADIES: Are you wearing long dresses for the formal nights?


Thanks for the tip on Kohl's. We'll be shopping in Columbus on Sat. or we might go to Zanesville to Gabe's.

I don't know if this is a good excuse or not, but part of the reason I'm not ready yet is because I just booked the cruise last week. Besides, if I packed now, I'd unpack the day before and repack just to make sure I didn't forget anything.

As far as excur., I haven't even had time to look at them. My DD9 wants to snorkel (no experience), I want to go to a nice quite (fully clothed) beach, and we both want to .... ....SHOP!! I have read some other threads about the beaches you can go to on your own. Will it really be too late to book excur. the morning you arrive at the island? You know me, don't want to do anything any sooner than I have to. LOL

We haven't booked excursions yet either... just can't decide. By the time we do, they will probably be booked solid! Right now I should be sleeping (it being 4 in the morning here) and I am so excited and interested in this cruise that I am reading every one of these forum pages! I am going to be sorry when my three month old wakes up at 6 am!

kangakruise... Welcome! Wow, Portugal! Congrats on the upgrade. We are all going to have a magical cruise.
tsjjdisney... Enjoy your trip. This time alone to just enjoy each other will be like a 2nd honeymoon. I have read on this board where many people go with kids on 1 trip, then without the next, etc. I LOVE the cheesecake factory, but they give you SO MUCH FOOD! I can never finish a meal.
cynjam... ONLY 1 BIRTH CERTIFICATE! You are killing me! Just "sucking the life right out of me!" Seriously, many of my friend wait until the last minute to prepare for trips, and always have everthing ready in time.This is their system that works for them. I'm sure you are the same. I know you will be just fine with everything ready and set to go.
I will be wearing a t-length dress on formal night. I heard that many wear long gowns, I just don't have any. I also brought DGS tropical shirt at Kohls.
We are at the Days Inn. coming in near midnight, so we will only be sleeping.

Someone told me that they were called NoSeeUms(I am really not sure how to spell it). I got a lot of them on my legs and a few on my arms. I was hoping I wasn't the only one.

This was a quote from a recent Castaway Cay cruiser who got back 8/23, so watch for these sea lice. Someone suggested bringing the bug spray. I wonder if they come out more after a rain? Most of the cruisers on that thread got bit by these things. Remember, bring bug stuff.

Sorry I haven't been around. My mom (who is coming on the cruise w/us) fell down her stairs last week. She broke her wrist in 4 places, and dislocated her elbow. She had surgery yesterday, so is in a full cast. She is adamant she is still going on the cruise, so we've been back & forth to various doctors (more today). When I check in at the port, I'll have to ask for a paid upgrade for adjoining cabins (I have to help he a lot). I can't open my safe to get passports/birth certificates. I hope the passports haven't expired. I will be wearing a long gown for formal night, and MAYBE semi-formal. I went shopping for a gown, and got killer deals on 2. Since I don't have anywhere else to wear them...

Woobie, I'm so sorry to hear that about your Mom. My Mom twisted her ankle just days before we were to go to the State Fair, and had to cancel. Too much walking for a sore foot. You may not have to pay for an upgrade, just to get connecting rooms. Unless you're in different cat. right now. At the time my TA got room assingments for us there weren't any close, but when I called Disney directly, a couple days later, we were able to get connecting cabins. Have you tried calling Disney, yet? Good luck!

Congrats to all who received an upgrade! However this being our 5th cruise and have booked since January we didn't receive one-would love to know how they give upgrades.

Dan and Scott, we got our upgrade because of our son. However, I had talked with Disney before that and they told me they give out a lot of upgrades at the cruise terminal. Sort of first come first served. If there are any "upper" rooms left they said they are happy to move people up at that time. I don't know when you are getting to the terminal, but maybe if it's early enough you could ask. I would point out that it's your 5th cruise. I would think Disney would be happy to do something for a repeat costumer. Or maybe you should just try to call Disney and see if they will upgrade you now.
I thought I read in a prior post that you really didn't want an upgrade because you already had the room you wanted. I could be confussed about that...wouldn't be the first time!

Where's everybody been, lately? Packing, or something? Not me! I'm still shopping and looking for birth cert. I found some shirts at Kohl's today, but nothing small enough for DS3. There's always tomorrow.

Is anyone flying into MCO Sat. about 1:15pm?
Yeah, I know, that's awfully late. But it's not me, it's my friend and that's the only flight avail with the $59 one way special. I'm just trying to find her (quick) trans to the port. (She doesn't want to drive) Any ideas?

Hi cynjam... I have never been to Orlando, so I can't help with the transportation. We are doing the disney bus. What time does the last one leave the airport? Just think, this time next week, we will be on the water!

Tiffany Towncar is great. I'm not sure about $$ for a car, but a van for us is $170 roundtrip. You get the car to yourself, and they pick you up right at baggage claim. There's a $15 off coupon in the DCL passporter book, too. I've been taking care of mom. Off to do some shopping. We have to find some tops that can fit over her cast, or ones that can be cut a bit.

We are staying at a hotel that will take us back to the airport but we need to know when the first bus will leave. I'm sure we can find out at the airport I'm just wanting to know everything in advance.

Shopping done, birth certs found, packing well started ... Have to clean out the fridge!

Well let me first intoduce myself... I feel kinda bad I have been lurking for over a month. Just finally got around to registering on the board. Thanks for everyones wonderful hints & tips. I will be traveling with my DM, DW(world's Greatest), DD(12), DD(5) & DS(10). We have never been on a Disney Cruise before and can't wait!!
