I got the list!!!!!! What a terrific job you did Julie. I am impressed.

Darren-Funny to think that they would have a program in England about Thanksgiving cooking when the celebration was about surviving in the new land over here away from England! Although they were all English.

Bonnie, I'm so glad you got the list! Now I know that at least one person got it! It took longer then I thought! I figured you would get it no later then Wednesday, but better later then never! I just hope that everyone else gets theirs. I figure that we will do the gift opening after you guys get back from WDW. Maybe around 18th?

I'm game for choosing the date. Whatever date the majority wants is ok with me!

Today was a blah day. I tried to finish the decorating, but that didn't happen:( ! Makenzie must have had a virus because she wasn't herself today. Once her stepsister came over (Anna Marie) she seemed to just want to lay on the couch and do nothing. I went over to see how she was doing and she said her tummy hurt. I felt her forehead and she was burning up! I took her temperature and she was up to 103.6 so we were a little concerned! Garry gave her some child's motrin and I held her with daddy sitting next to us. After about 30mins, we noticed that she was "damp" all over. Her fever broke! THANK GOODNESS! Then she continued to have peaks and valleys the rest of the evening. Garry and I have visions of last year about this same time when she went into the hospital for two days with an "illness" that gave her a fever of 104 - 105 and she wouldn't walk. The doctors thought she had some kind of hip infection that could cripple her and they wanted to run all sorts of tests. NEEDLESS to say, we didn't want to have a repeat experience! By the way, she was fine once they finally got her fever down. It took I don't know how many IV's all I remember that after 5, I stopped counting. No matter what they did, her fever wouldn't move until after all the IV's and having to catherizing (sp?) her TWICE, and drawing umpteen viles of blood.

I am happy to say she should be back to herself by tommorrow.

I hope all is well with your family Diana!

Boy the board is VERY quiet these last few days! I guess everyone is getting Garry his Christmas presents, right? (ok, he made me add that!:teeth: )

I'll check in later today! Have a good day everyone!

I agree with Julie. Blah day yesterday but still good. I hope Makenzie is doing better today. May just be a virus. That must have been terrible for her last year. No repeats allowed.

No much planned for today. Tonight-SCRAPBOOKING!!! Yea!! I got my trimmer back from my son, stocked up on paper I'm all set. Although I will probably get 1-2 pages completed. In the time it should take me to do about 10 pages. I'm too fussy.

I hope you all continue to check in at least once a day. Laurie where are you? Busy shopping or lurking?

And Krista!!! You will get the award for staying away the longest.

I guess Sandy and Ted are enjoying the 3000sq ft "cabin". Yea right, cabin, uh huh... If that's a cabin my house is a small shed.

Still can't get over this nasty cough and congestion!! Called the doctor's office yesterday but they were closed. I was working, why were't they??

We took my Mom out to the Japanese Steakhouse last night. We stuffed ourselves more than the day before!

Going shopping in a little while. I hope the crowds have settled down a bit. I'm like you Julie, I don't really care for shopping and the people are just mean!! My niece is getting married next weekend so I have to go out for that. If we feel up to it we may also go to a movie.

Maybe, I'll get the list in today's mail. It's funny. I don't have the list but I do have my package!!! Hmmm. Somebody is not as behind on the Christmas shopping as I am.

Have a great day!

I'm sure by NOT going back and reading pages and pages I'm missing something terribly important! :D :D

Thursday was a regular day here for us although I did make lots of phone calls and a special dinner.

Am going to Charleston, SC early Wednesday morning. My Dad is having surgery early Thursday morning. They are doing a resection (taking 70%) of his liver and burning out (?) a little more. Hopefully things will go well. It seems a little harder because he feels great! All his scans, MRIs and all came back ok so that is good.

Tomorrow morning after church I am having a kids fun day for about 30 kids -- they leave them with me in the church gym form 12-3 so they can shop or whatever. I feed them lunch, play games, do crafts and watch movies. I do have 1 adult helper and a couple of youth.

Ian is leaving Monday morning for a 3 day field trip up north so I will miss him when he returns Wed. night. Friday the kids are off school and a very good friend will have all the kids (Oliver's mom as a matter of fact). I owe her BIG -- she will be watching all of them most of the time I'm gone. I hope she is still my friend when I get back Sat. night!

Sat. afternoon when I'm gone is the kids Christmas party that I am suppose to be doing for Greg's office. There are around 50 kids plus their parents -- 100 people or so. I did buy all the gifts yesterday. The food is almost done, the decorations are ordered, Santa is set up and I have a company coming in to help the kids each make their own stuffed animals to take home. I certainly hope people from the office will pitch in more than they did last year because this is NOT Gregs strong point! He just likes to go with the flow....... Should be interesting to say the least! I have most of the work done but setting up the hall he will have to do....... oh boy.

I don't know if I got the list -- haven't even gotten my mail for the past 3 days -- and the box is just around the corner -- guess I could send Ian -- duh.

Not sure if I will check in again before I go. Alina has hockey today at 11:30, Ian's is at 4:00 and we have the adult work xmas party tonight -- at least it's not at my house anymore (once in a while I do say no!).

Happy belated Turkey Day to all!!!!! I used to go shopping the day after and my sister would get so mad at me -- I'd ALWAYS get a front parking spot and watch her drive around for 30 minutes or so trying to get any spot! THAT was fun   !!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

Another busy busy Saturday.

We had Jaymee back in the Dr's office yesterday. She went to her regular Pediatrician instead of the military Dr's he said he is pretty sure she does have Mono and has had it all along. He thinks the military misdiagnosed her back in Oct. Here we are back at sqaure one. She has a state Cheerleading competion in 2 weeks and the Dr told her she probably will not be able to go. Plus if her tonsals do not get better she will need them out.

Hope everyone is doing good today. Things have been quiet on the boards. Such a busy time of year!

Barb

Prayers for your dad. I hope all goes well in SC. We will be thinking of you. It's good to hear that the scans are all negative.

Barb, what a bummer about Jaymee! Good luck getting her back jumping and cheering.
Diana, Ian's Mom will still be your friend! LOL Good luck with the wild schedule, that must be how you stay so thin. I'll keep your Dad in my prayers. I hope that the surgery goes well. He has quite a bit of strength it sounds like, so that will sure help the recovery.
Susan, those formal pictures are awesome! Wow, the black and white attire really looked sharp and elegant.

Yummmy, leftover pumpkin and pecan pie is calling me. It's saying something like..."Yes, pie is the breakfast of champions, come to the fridge..." Gotta go!

Diana - many, many prayers you way. Hope all is well. I'll be thinking about you. You'll only be about 3 1/2 hours away from me when you are in Charleston. I won't have far to send the pixie dust!!! Let us know how things go. We care!!

Lori - we were rather pleased with our formals. The black and white did look nice. Probably some of the best family photos we have!

Julie - we got the list today!!! You are way to organized for me! Thanks for all the hard work!

Darren - I hope you don't mess up in the middle of counting all those salt packets!!! I'd hate for your to have to start over.

TTFN

I have the snow on the window seat, Goofey decorating the tree and Mickey & Minnie singing carols out the window. It's something. Now I just have to leave my blinds up but I will need a sheet for the back of the window seeat so the world doesn't see inside.
Sorry to hear about Jaymee. I didn't realize she was still sick all this time. How well I know those military doctors. That's all I had growing up. Although I can remember some good ones along the way.

I have my thinking cap on for the Christmas exchange. I was hoping to wait till the WDW trip but that is cutting it too close.

I'll check back later. Off to Scrapbook in a couple hours.

Julie: I hope Makenzie is feeling better! We got our list yesterday.

Darren: I hope you had "fun" counting. My MIL works for a department store and has to do the same thing, though not as often. She hates it!

I was just informed that my nephew got quite ill Thursday evening and sounds croupy. We just saw them that morning. I really hope Kaleigh doesn't catch it. She didn't really have any contact with him, plus she slept in my parents bedroom for 2 hours. I still have my sore throat, but it is feeling some better.

What a yucky day! It is snowing, again! We got a bunch of outside stuff done, then we had to go to Jerry's parents so he could clean out the gutter, in the snow! They could have said something before the end of November! We did get the Christmas decorations out of the attic.

We had to go to Target last night to get Kaleigh a refill on her Nystatin for her Thrush. I tried to get it Wednesday, but insurance wouldn't let us fill it until yesterday! I bought my Christmas cards while we were there and a couple of books for Kaleigh for Christmas.

We have to rely on friends and family to take pictures of Kaleigh and e-mail them to us. We do not have a scanner or a digital camera or a computer capable of handling the software for a digital camera. Getting pictures put on a disc is very expensive!

Diana: I hope everything goes well on Thursday for your dad!

I went scrapbooking and did 4 pages. Came home to find one note from Denine. I guess everyone is busy.

Laurie are you lurking?

Julie: How is Makenzie doing today? Back to her old self? Inevitably children get ill on the weekends when there are no MD's around.

Hi everyone, we're back. Had a great Thanksgiving. It was so relaxing. The "cabin" sits about 9700 ft in altitude. Thought that it would be chilly but it was wonderful. Sunshine everyday. Overlooked snow capped mtns. It had a little snow around but not bad at all. I agree with you, Bonnie. It really isn't a cabin but that is what they call it. It's smaller than their house. Must be rough!

What a surprise with Jaymee. Can't believe that she might have mono.

Sure hope Kleigh doesn't catch the croup! Whooping cough is actually going around the high school where our DD's graduated. Can you imagine teenagers with whooping cough?

Diana, wish your dad luck. Safe travels to you.

Darren, did you go home and count sheep in your sleep after inventory?

Julie, I got the list. Thanks for all! Looks like it came today. It did take awhile, didn't it?

I am tired so am headed off to bed. Sweet dreams to all.

Hi everyone! Finished putting the tree up today. Thank goodness for Anna Marie! She helped with watching the kids or putting the lights on the tree. Makenzie is doing better. She has her peaks and valleys still. I did let her and Anna Marie go outside to play in th snow for 10 minutes. She really wanted to play with "Sissy" (that is what she calls Anna Marie) in the snow and we don't get her next week because she has a school dance. Her fever is gone YEAH! She now sounds very stuffy. I'm just glad she isn't sick like she was last year.

I'm glad to se that people got their lists! I hope everything is understandable and easy to read. Maybe the mail was slow due to Thanksgiving. If you don't get a list by monday, let me know!

Diana, I hope all goes well with your father! Please keep us posted! You and your father and the rest of the family will be in our thoughts and prayers! PLEASE BECAREFUL ON YOUR WAY DOWN! The weather isn't the greatest! By the way, since you will be heading to the states for Christmas, and we haven't picked a day to open the gifts from the exchange, if you get your package before you leave and it's before the "opening date" from the board - you - and ONLY DIANA (got that Susan! LOL) can open it. When you get a back or get a chance to get to a computer, you can post on the board what you got or who had you etc. ( after we all have opened ours of course).

Darren, let me help........4506 straws, 4507 straws, 7508....... That must be EXTREMELY boring! Have you heard from your friend on the Magic? Did he get sick? I sure hope not. Last I heard the count was 218 people on this past weeks cruise. I did look at the ship from the web cam about 4:46pm today and all I could think of "We are about to set sail!!!!!!!!!" Sail away party here we come! Don't I wish! That is after they clean the ship! One day closer to the big interview! If you need character witnesses (or whatever they would call us) just give them the 19th Cruisers list and tell them we will tell them all about you! (well that is what we can from just one week on a cruise!:teeth:)

The cabin sounds great Sandy! When do we all go again? We can have a reunion wine party at the cabin! And this time Barb, Sally, and Patty do you think you could remember this one? LOL :p (you know I'm just teasing right?)

Well, I better go! Garry and I have the Browns game to go to tomorrow - oops- today and I should get to bed! It's gonna be a cold one! Only suppose to reach the low twenties / high teens with lake effect snow! Now that's Football! I'll check in after the game!

Slept in this morning. I sound like I have whooping cough!! The boys camped out in the family nroom last night to watch movies and let me cough to myself!!! Tomorrow I will definitely get to the doctor's office!! I'm hoping for a fast-acting, miracle shot!!!

I'm supposed to go to a bridal shower this afternoon. We'll see how I feel later on. I just put on a pot of coffee. Maybe that will help. I can't believe my niece is really getting married next week. She was only 2 months old when Paul and I met!!! Hey Julie, she's marrying a cop. Does she have any idea what she is getting into??

Bonnie - wish you were close by. Maybe I'd take up scrapbooking and we could do it together. I don't do it because I do not have a creative bone in my body. LOL

As for Christmas decorating, I have a wreath on the door and a couple of Christams candles out. It's NOT beginning to look alot like Christmas YET!

See ya. I gotta go pour myself a cup of coffee.

Great sight for the smileys!

Here's Sue with her Holiday package...
smilie_geschenke.gif

Shaking that package eh Sue???
I don't have a creative bone in my body either but I did pretty good last night with 4 pages. I will tak a picture of 2 of them and send it on for all to see. The sail away pages. Barb and Mom & Patty-where were you???? You were like the mystery 19'ers. Does anyone have pictures of them???? Were they just a figment of our imagination? LOL

Good morning

Yea Bonnie we are real!! Just forgetful....

We went to see the "Nutcracker" last night. Beautiful scenery and it was done by a former Disney designer that worked on Splash Mt., Magic Kingdom, etc. Had dinner before the show...it was a fun evening with Barb's family.

It has been in the 60's here but they promised snow this week just like they did last week. I love snow in Nov. and Dec. and it is ok in Jan but then I want spring to come so I can garden.

Glad to hear you are working on your scrapbook Bonnie. Would love to see your pages. I have to take time off working on mine and do Christmas cards and make some borders for a Christmas party at my unit leaders house.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hello to all!!!!!
I haven't been lurking, just trying to get stuff done around the house, etc. My new computer should arrive by UPS tomorrow, so I am trying to clean off stuff on this old one, so Kristen can have it in her room. Most of my XMAS shopping was done before Thanksgiving. I also HATE TO SHOP!! :( So, the earlier I get done, the better. Because John is a jeweler, he will be working 7 days a week from now until Xmas, so its quiet around here.....but we get alot of girl stuff done!! The next 2 weeks I hope to get some cookie baking in.

Julie -- We got our list yesterday..... Is there a date decided yet?

Get well soon to Jaymee!!!!!

Hope you all had a great holiday!!

I got my letter Julie. Thank You!!!
I just doubled the memory on my computer. Wish I could do that with my head! (Haven't noticed much difference yet.) Back to the grind tomorrow! Yea. The kids are getting so nutso. It's time for school to start back up.
So, no one has used a turkey fryer huh? Darn, I need a good instruction/recipe book.
Take good care, Lori
