I can't believe how "out of the loop" we've been!

School is back in session, and I'm about as busy as a 1 armed paper hanger. When I do get home at night, I'm just too tired to "DIS" sad2:.....GASP!)

I guess I'm getting too old to deal with 6 year olds!

Hope everyone is well. There are just too many pages to read right now.

So, Beano...How many bottles of "Cinzano" should I try and get???

I had a really busy day. Took my Mom to the Psychiatrist (I need him more than her) with my Aunt tagging along & then my reward was we all went to an early dinner at the diner.

Welcome Back TCHRMOM!!!!

I was beginning to wonder if you folks had changed your cruise dates. Can't wait for this one. Kamgen and I are loving FL so far except we haven't moved into our permanent residence yet. That will be in about two weeks. We will be right in lovely downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Love it! Kamgen started her new job yesterday. She can tell you all about it.

Worry of the week: Hurricane freakin Francis. Looks like this one could hit Orlando like Charley did. We are supposed to be there this weekend. Hopefully all goes well. Love ya all.

We're keeping our eye on that 'cane...praying for all our FL people...hopefully it putters out before it hits land.

Well, it's been eight crazy days! We give the little chubby (aka our friends daughter) back to them tomorrow night. It's been an adventure to say the least...but she's been as good as you could hope any 18 mo old to be. She's just a little princess.

Now back to the grind of finding a new job. Hope I have the good fortune Kamgen has had.

First of all, I didn't get an CD's from you Beano. What is with that?

Looks like H. Frances is going to beat the crap out of Castaway Cay tomorrow or Friday morning. They showed the island that closest to it last night and the people were battening down the hatches if you know what I mean.

Kamgen and I are packing tonight to get out of town. Where out of town is the question. Orlando might be right in this things path. At least we would be at WDW though.

Anyone got any ideas?

Tarzanman - how do you like Ft. Lauderdal so far? My best friend is moving from Colorado to Boynton Beach, FL this Saturday. Thankfully they are driving so it will take a few days and they can avoid the hurricane. Me, I am wishing their home will be hit and they will have to stay here!!! Boynton Beach I believe is about 1 hour North of Ft. Lauderdale. They wanted to move to Lauderdale but they couldn't find a good job there so they headed North.

Boynton Beach is about 40 minutes north of Ft. Lauderdale and only 10 minutes north of where I work. It is a nice area. We thought about living there before my DW got a job downtown. The housing market is crazy here but prices are better up that way. I hope that your friends have a safe trip.

Finally got our shore and gift excusion brochures from our TA!

Hey Fran, know how that six year old thing goes. I'm running a school fundraiser and the company leader made a fool of me at the assembly, told the kids to tell me how nice I look everytime I see them in the hall, gets the kindies in trouble!

Dudettes, just how serious is Osgood Schlatter's Disease? Sounds awful, huh? My DS10 went to one day of middle school track and woke the next morning, unable to stand on his leg. Seems the "disease" is the tendon pulling away from the shin, common in growing, athletic kids. Looked awful on the x-ray. Just got the other knee all righted after a baseball slide this summer. Our exercise may be curtailed on this cruise.

No hurricanes in Colorado either, as Heidi and I can attest.

What wine tasting? What kind is needed for admission?

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that I will be off-line for the rest of the week/weekend. We decided to go up to the cabin (northern Wisconsin) one last time this summer in hopes of better weather than when we were there 2 weeks ago.

If anyone wants to add/update/change anything on the website, just send me an email or a PM and I will take care of it when I get back.

We'll be driving home on Sunday night, so I'll be back around here on Monday.

Carla - The guest list is pretty simple : If you're nice, and come and introduce yourself at the port and say hello, you will likely get an invitation to our humble gathering! At this point, it is a small gathering of my current wonderful DIS friends (although they are so much more than that now!), and those on this thread who are interested in meetin' and greetin' with us!

We are just going to get together in our stateroom for 2 or 3 (or 4 or 5...) hours and taste... ok, drink... wine! It's a laidback time to just laugh and joke. VERY informal.


Fran - Ah, such dilemmas!!

But I have seen (and I kid you NOT) people wheeling carts with cases and cases of beer on board! So, I don't know how many suitcases you want to bring, but there is no limit on the wine! More ya got, more welcome ya are !

Just kidding - you and Dave are always welcome.

And since the calendar now says September, let me be the first to point out that we are all going on a cruise NEXT MONTH!!

This is our 2nd cruise and we are looking forward to another great time. I haven't gotten through all of the past posts, so could someone please fill me in if there are any boys around 11 on board? Seems like my DD (6) will have plenty of company.

Carla is right, no hurricanes here!!!! No boarding up windows, no evacuations from homes....we are clear. Anyone can come here to escape the hurricane if they want.

I can't answer your question Cheri, but I just wanted to say Welcome. Sounds like we have a good group of people going on this cruise.

YEA next month is the cruise. Does anybody know when I can expect the Docs to come?

Castaway Cay is going to be hit tonight and tomorrow from Frances. Hopefully all will be back to normal in a month. Either way, with this group, we should all have a wonderful time wherever we end up.
