So I was one waiting for the opening of ROL that didn't happen when they thought it would and now am finally making it back to WDW to be able to see it. Is the standby line still bad? Is it better to do FP or a Restaurant pass? I want to see it at least once. I am going the last week of Sept

Varies.
Try for a same-day FP.

Arrive 35-45 min., before show time.

I don't think its worth wasting a FP... unless you have one you don't plan to use.
And as for the dinner package..... only do that if you are going to eat there anyway!
Especially the end of Sept! I think standby will get you in just fine.
We went the last week of Sept last year and there was plenty of room in stand-by

That was my point about trying for a "same-day FP."

It won't eliminate any of the advance-booked choices.

Honestly our timing happened to work out last month and we showed up around 20 minutes before the show and got plugged into one of the last rows of seats.

I think the above 30-40 is safer than our fly by the seat of your pants method.

Me too! We’re finally going in May. :cool1:
