ROL fastpass necessary in late January?

Going to Disney last week of January. Is it necessary to get a FP for ROL? If not, how long ahead do you need to find a seat?

From our trip in May - we arrived about 45 minutes early with a FP. The standby was getting fairly full. I think your timing of how early to arrive will be determined by having a FP. Probably safe at 30 minutes early.
