am going to the U2 concert 9/16.:cool1::thumbsup2 Does anyone know how parking is at/around Rogers Centre? I am a little worried that I won't be able to find a place to park. Also, how much would parking go for?
Thanks

which way are you coming from? I always drive to yorkdale and take the subway much faster and free parking.

not sure the best way but my DH will. I'll get back to you in the morning if someone else doesnt answer in the meantime.

I am coming from Rochester NY.

Were heading there too. I would sudjest not driving into and parking at or near Rogers center. We are hopping on the GO train in Oakville. Alot easier and you will get out of town alot faster. If your interested in doing the same or have more questions about this idea let me know. I can fill in the blanks.

I was looking at the train, but from the schedule info it does not look like there is a train to go back after the concert. Would they run an extra train due to the show?

Thanks
Elaine

There are tons of lots around the Roger's Centre. You are looking at around $15.00 - $20.00 to be really close.

I usually park at Metro Hall (Roy Thompson Hall), it's a 5 min walk, and it is $10.00 in the evenings. It's underground and safe.

Go train from Port Credit or park at Kipling subway gets my vote.

Port Credit GO. Free parking

Kipling subway station. Free parking after 3:00 p.m.

If you decide to drive down town.

Parking at Harbourfront on Queens Quay, west of the Rogers Centre will make your exit from the concert quicker. The closer you park to the stadium the worse the traffic chaos after the show.

Here the general area to park near the dome. After the show make your way to Lakeshore Blvd and head west 5 to 6 km to meet up with the expressway out of town

Great map. How did you add the dotted route with the X?

Much nicer than my arrows attacking from the lake.

I endorse the suggestion of parking at Metro Hall/Roy Thomson Hall. I always, always park down there when I'm in that area. The parking fee is a standard flat rate that doesn't seem to go up during event days and best of all, I've never had troubles exiting the garage ... even after an event at Roy Thomson Hall.

Screen Capture software called SNAGIT (click the name for the website).

It has a LOT more editing tools that Microsoft Paint... :)

There is even closer parking for $10. The condo on the other side of Spadina has an automated parking lot underneath the building that has the SObeys supermarket on the ground floor. When there are events the parking is $10 and you pay with your credit card at a machine. I would suggest having $10 in change for USvisitors in case credit cards are not recognized.

To get there you make a left at the first lights once you get off the highway at Spadina. I park there all the time when I go down for Blue Jays games (have seasons tickets). It has only been full once. Have fun!

It shouldn't be too bad leaving the game if you drive. There are paid duty officers to move the traffic along. Why pay for the GO train when you can just pay for parking?

Also, after a game the Go train is filled with ALL kinds of people.

LOL Its called rushhour. have you ever tried getting in or out of Toronto during rush hour. Now try it as a visitor. Thats why I sudjested the GO train. I know it train goes to Oakville all the time. I have not checked the stops after for there schedules. I would not go any closer on a week day rush hour for just that reason traffic. But thats just me. Oh and if you dont want to be packed into the train with the rest. Move down to the front 2 cars there is always empty seats. Most people just get on the trian where the door to the platform is hence standing room only.

I think I know rush hour. I LIVE in Toronto. Rush hour in even the smallest city can be the same though. I also lived in Halifax for 18 years.

I also know rush hour on the GO coming from a game. No thanks. I'd rather be sitting in my own car than with a bunch of drunks who are also coming from a game on the GO train. The parking near Rogers Centre is not that bad. By the time you walk to Union Station and get on the GO train you could be on the Gardiner Expressway.

That's just my opinion.

I wasnt slamming you just tring to point out not everyone knows Toronto. Driving it at the best of times sucks. Thats cool I'm glad you do know what toronto rush hours is all about. I do too. But the original poster might not know what rush hour is like in Toronto. A normal 30 min drive from oakville is now 1.5 hrs along the qew at best during rush hour. The train 35 mins. I was just offering up a alternitive to sitting in traffic from oakville to downtown at 6pm. I do understand that coming from outside the area your best bet would be to go straight to the venue though as its less to worry about. As for the smelly beer guys after a game I agree. Although if again you move to the front 2 cars of the train it's something you wont have to worry about as most dont think that far ahead to move forward in the train. I dont recall the smelly beer guys at a concert though maybe stoned but not smelly beer lol
If the OP has extra time in the day maybe they could come up earlier in the day park for the day and shop Toronto has great shopping. That would get them around rush hour all together. LSmith ham ham thinks were gonna scrap it out he want front seats lol. Sorry ham ham not gonna happen we are just explaing our points. No scrap here.

On a side note LSmith are going to the show too. We are looking forward to U2 again. Our kids have never seen them so there excited too.
