DVC benefits from a Reality Distortion Field. As far as I can tell, BCV has an additional layer of RDF beyond that.

Will 2042 ever impact prices there?

Eventually it will, because there will be no more points and it will be worth zero dollars. Earlier than that? There's only one way to know for sure.

DVC benefits from a Reality Distortion Field. As far as I can tell, BCV has an additional layer of RDF beyond that.

Eventually it will, because there will be no more points and it will be worth zero dollars. Earlier than that? There's only one way to know for sure.

It was more of a rhetorical question driven by my frustration for not having BCV. I think the current prices sorta makes sense if you consider the small boutique nature of the resort as well as its proximity to Epcot. It also has very strong rental demand as evidenced by the board sponsor’s rental site. I think it will retain strong value beyond 2032 IMO, unless the wishful speculation of a Yacht Club conversion ever comes into fruition.

I agree with you. I think I was commenting more from a BCV sellers perspective. If I was a long term BCV owner, I think it may be more valuable to keep the contract and use it for myself or rent it out over selling it below a certain price, especially considering the high rental demand because of high rack rates. If I didn’t feel the need to sell, I’d be less compelled to sell low. I’m just trying to understand why BCV commands such a high price. I’m also trying to accept the fact that I may never see BCV reach a low price, something many people hope and would jump on.

That is an option but they may or may not transfer the banked points. They do sometimes make exceptions when the contracts are owned by at least one of the same owners. Just remember, the points will retain their own UY and home resort, even when transferred.
