I am looking for a SAP resale contract at SSR but I have a question about point transfers.

I'm planning a 10 nights Aulani stay in 2027 in GV (1220 points).

What is the process of transferring points from several memberships into a single pot so to speak to be able to make that large reservation? Can I transfer 2 years worth of point from SSR to my AUL membership?

You might be able to do it, but you wouldn’t be able to book until seven months out. I am not sure how likely it is that you can get a 10 consecutive night stay less than seven months out, and that calculus may change by 2027 as more and more cheap Aulani resale points get consolidated amongst the folks here who love their annual GV trips… there just aren’t that many of them and I suspect at some point you will need to own to get more than a few nights together.

If you want GV then you should consider buying aul for sap because that 11 month booking window will be huge.

I feel you. I'm like pass already and its only been one day here!
With a delayed closing, it doesn't make much of a difference for me how fast I get word on ROFR to when I can expect points to be loaded if it passes but I am definitely invested to see how it compares to others submitted this week lol

If the SSR contract you buy has the same UY and is titled the same as your AUL contract, they’ll be in the same membership and can be combined easily at 7 months, no transferring needed. As others have pointed out, if they’re in separate memberships due to different UY and/or different owners, the SSR points will still retain their home resort and UY and couldn’t be used with AUL points until 7 months anyway.

Having the SSR contract in the same membership as the AUL contract would allow you to use up to three years of SSR points via banking and borrowing. I’m not sure of the rules about transferring points.

This is also so much easier - and with SSR I'm sure they can find the UY they want.

Unfortunately we we forced to cancel these two contracts. We are so disappointed to have to do this. Apparently, the seller was having issues with FIRPTA. They wanted to use an unknown company to process this and the language they were using would open us up the possibility of shifting some or all of the tax liability to us. This was a hard no for us as well as the resale company we were working with. We thought that we had the language worked out to move forward, but the sellers aren’t happy with the protections we want in place and we are unable to move forward without those protections. This has also prompted a change in the language in the resale company’s contracts going forward. (This is a well know company that we have worked with before and this is the first time they have encountered this). We are disappointed that we have had to cancel but we were very pleased with everything the resale company did to both protect us and to try to resolve the issue.

We’ll keep our eyes open to what else might pops up. After all, addonitis never truly goes away!!

Wow, truly sorry to hear. Glad to hear though that the Resale company was protecting your interest as well.

Best of luck.

That's too bad but definitely not worth the hassle. I'd rather pay 10 dollars more per point than have to deal with some international taxes and whatever other garbage that could come back to me.

This really threw up a bunch of red flags. We were originally told that they had had a “bad experience “ with the normal company that is used which is why they wanted to go with this unknown company. Things started to go south when they refused to sign an addendum that would keep the FIRPTA liability with them, which is where it should be. After some back and forth between them and the resale company, everything seemed to be set. We found out this morning that, again, they refused to sign the addendum that shields us from assuming any portion of the Foreign Income Tax Liability. I can only assume that their issue wasn’t exactly because of a bad experience with the other company but more with having to pay the Foreign Tax on the US property they are trying to sell

Exactly. No way I’m taking on someone else’s tax liability. We have plenty of points and there are always contracts coming up for sale. We’ll just continue to keep our eyes open for something we like.

Am I allowed to sing praises about the Title Co ??? I am so impressed with their service and the whole process!!! Can I give them a shout out ???
I am relatively new but I think they allow you to do it by posting the website. That allows the site to filter it out if the company is not allowed to be named. So, only using web addresses and not names. So glad you’re having a good experience!

Sure! If they have a website link, post that please!

Yeah…. no reason to do business with shady sellers…
