It’s very interesting to me that ROFR is speeding up, because slowing down ROFR is a (free!) lever DVD could pull to push people toward direct contracts, but instead they are not. Perhaps it goes along with occasional ROFR buybacks to support the resale market value?

I still believe that they exercise ROFR when they have a specific goal or reason in mind. I do not believe they ROFR to support contracts resale value.

I suspect they have certain resorts at threshold levels that trigger a buy, not sure they are interested in the smaller points sizes or older locations with less than 30 years, there needs to be a good secondary market like with cars as for some at the top end, it helps buy new with a good resale value after some years.

@TybeeEagle - congrats on the contract! btw, how does one get double points in 2024, when prior year points (2023) were not banked? saw a few others with this pattern, and was hoping to understand better. Thank you!

It seems this is true but I wonder if there's a point they would buy back any resort if the price was too low and what that price is. For instance I've seen BWV hovering around 100 at its lowest. Would a sudden purchase in the 80s trigger ROFR? I wonder if they have an algorithm for each resort and run every ROFR through it or if the one person in charge just puts it up to their forehead and "feels the ROFR".

Anyone here see the $83 pp AKV for 50 points yesterday on Fidelity???? I clicked on it but it took me to a broken link and then disappeared. I wonder if it was a typo so they deleted it or if someone scored a great deal. It wasn't stripped.

Congrats.

Curious, did you or did the seller pay for the closing costs and/or the dues for the 2023 points?

If you paid any of them you should update your string with the added costs. If the sellers paid, your could include that info too.

I haven't closed yet, but that price listed was my all in price when I made my offer. I actually offered $35,000 all in and the closing costs and fees came in under.
