This would be super cool. My husband has a picture of the Yacht Club in his office. Ive been bitter that it wasnt a DVC property. haha! (his company installs fire/security doors)Or if you buy Yacht Club DVC in the future…. do you put them in your normal UY or the RIV UY because those could be used at RIV….
I’m just waiting for it to happen a couple years after RIV sells out and going back to read all of the talk about if you want to be able to stay at an “EPCOT” resort after 2042 then you have to buy at RIV….This would be super cool. This is the level of petty that I aspire to. I feel the same about BLT, the only thing it kind of has going for it is it proximity to MK- can’t wait until they build the Adventureland hotel or Villains hotel or whatever hotel that enters into the park so it longer has that sole claim.I’m just waiting for it to happen a couple years after RIV sells out and going back to read all of the talk about if you want to be able to stay at an “EPCOT” resort after 2042 then you have to buy at RIV….![]()
BLT has location, pricing and dues as big positives. Plus 2 bathrooms in the 1 bedroom and 3 in the 2 bedroom. Even if the theming isn’t for you, those are big pluses for many. This is the level of petty that I aspire to. ^^^^this! The refurb results, walkability to a park, access to dining across many resorts, the lower dues, and price per point over length of contract sold it for us!BLT has location, pricing and dues as big positives. Villains hotel would be cool. I’m pretty sure pricing and dues will start higher.
Not to mention a really good point chart compared to many locations.^^^^this! The refurb results, walkability to a park, access to dining across many resorts, the lower dues, and price per point over length of contract sold it for us!
I get it. It’s just a petty remark like the one above is all. The pricing of whatever comes next at Epcot will also be insane but the heart wants what it wants…or doesn’t want. Everyone always says DVC is as much an emotional decision as it is a logical one.BLT has location, pricing and dues as big positives. Plus 2 bathrooms in the 1 bedroom and 3 in the 2 bedroom. Totally true that it can be just as much of an emotional decision as a logical one. That's what's great about the variety of resorts. Something for everyone. My heart needs to stop wanting........because my brain can only fight so long.I get it. It’s just a petty remark like the one above is all. My heart would want Grand Floridian and Disneyland Hotel, but my brain says “BLT is going to get you 90% of what you want at a much lower investment, with better point charts. If you want to stay at Disneyland Hotel some year, rent your points out! And someday you will get Grand Floridian on wait list and you can spend points to your heart’s desire.”Totally true that it can be just as much of an emotional decision as a logical one. Yep, it’s why we have 5 home resorts…and still want 1 or 2 more…self control? Never knew herTotally true that it can be just as much of an emotional decision as a logical one. I had three and am signing the deed today to sell the third. Two is enough to handle for me! lol. I will 7 months in and hope for the best when I want to stay elsewhere. Or I’ll just stay at my 2 home resorts and call it good!Yep, it’s why we have 5 home resorts…and still want 1 or 2 more…self control? Never knew her![]()
Completely agree. And while BLT point charts will inevitably be better compared to whatever comes next at MK, my guess is that RIV will too compared to the next EPCOT area resort…regardless of where it is and when it’s built. This is the level of petty that I aspire to. Petty? Ha! I just think it’s humorous when people make statements with absolutely certainty when they have no idea of knowing if it will be true or not.I get it. I’m curious - if you vacationed more often at WDW (say 3 weeks out of every year in a 2 bedroom) - and wanted an 11-month advantage at a resort close ‘enough’ to EPCOT to complement your VGF, would you feel comfortable buying all those points at BWV?Petty? Ha! I just think it’s humorous when people make statements with absolutely certainty when they have no idea of knowing if it will be true or not.
Now layer that with the Stockholm Syndrome of many RIV owners trying to justify their decision to buy restricted points and how they try to transfer it to others…. it just gives me a chuckle.
Also, I think BLT is probably the most practical resort anyone can purchase that doesn’t want to have to schlep around in a bus to get anywhere. And the new refurb looks good! A good argument for CCV as well…

I say this as an owner of BWV - it is by far my favorite DVC property - but there’s no way I would feel comfortable purchasing that quantity of points in 2025. My point is that it’s a little easier to say ‘never’ to RIV if you’re visiting for a few nights or every other year.Yes!
I will be 70 when they expire so I think getting 16+ years out of it is plenty worth it as opposed to worrying about when I’m 80. lol
