Thanks! I was not expecting anyone to accept a contract that wasn't stripped for less than $85 and pay MF.

Www.dvcresalemarket.com told me it wasn't going to happen without it being stripped because I wanted an unstripped for $80pp.

Made several offers at once. They were asking $95 and when I offered $80 with MF paid by seller, I was surprised they countered with $85 and MF paid. I pushed back with random $82 and they bit. This all happened in roughly 20 minutes of me looking 🤣

Intention of this is for SAP and it matches one of my UY, two is enough for me 🤣
Glad you're matching your use years now, also nice deal for SAP :)

No need for kidding. That’s how the guides marketed it when it was in active sales! “Buy SSR and swap at 7 months!”
I actually did the math and it comes out to just paying $16 more to sell my other contract points at $18 (BLT or AKV) and then turn around and rent a Riviera one bedroom reservation for four nights in January from Davids, than what a Riv owners value of points for booking is. Then I can use my SSR SAP points to stay every where else.

I thought that was amazing for whenever I want to stay at Riv.

This is ofc when you factor in SSRs lower maintenance fees annually on a 150 point contract which is almost $1000 less annually than a Riv 150 point contract. That's when I pulled the trigger for resale only.

Not a good strategy imo. Remember renting doesnt come with flexibility as owning does. If buying SAP I would just accept that you wont be staying at RIV. Not a huge deal when there are so many other options.

Don't forget you'll pay income tax on the rental income.

Also I'm calculating the difference in annual maintenance fees at $106.50, not $1000. Are you including a straight line amortization of the initial purchase price in that estimate?

Sooo…do you think this will be all the points you need? Is direct still in consideration for the future? Or maybe this purchase will get you everything you need!

Seriously especially with my math skills 🤣🤣 I don't plan to stay there often, but once in a blue moon when I'm feeling FOMO perhaps

I think this will be it for now 🤣🤣🤣 we normally do long trips twice a year (3 weeks at a time) but now were talking about splitting these into 2 week trips 3x a year possibly.

I'm going to test out and see how these go for the rest of the year and next.

We are a couple with no kids interested in staying in one bedrooms mostly, we like a king bed and for now we do have my cousin and her three children that travel with us On most trips so this September I'm going for all two bedrooms, but that will change as time passes perhaps.

I am open to direct in the future with a really good sale. I just couldn't justify the cost in my brain right now. We went back and forth so many times and I'm finally like do we want to possibly be able to buy up to 350 SSR SAP points and stay longer and in better rooms or do we want 150 points with member perks but that it seemed like everything had something that annoyed me about each, ie moonlight magic not guaranteed, member cruise more expensive than regular cruising, lounge meh etc. (minus the discount, but is that worth the extra thousands)

I think what sealed the deal for me was actually reading all the governing docs and realizing that even direct isn't guaranteed every future resort, although greater possibilty ofc and I don't see why not, still don't trust Disney and this new Trust coming up lol seems like theres always some kind of hoe game somewhere loll.

I still see the value in being a full on member and not having to come up with creative ways to stay at the hotel i like, Riv and feeling left out. It is a goal of mine at some point with the right price and maybe seeing more hotels i like! For now, when i want to feel like the Queen of Sheba i will stay at the VGF 🤣🤣

LsL will probably be another deciding factor for me! I'm really curious if I like it because I don't care for WL, CFW and do i dare tell people VGC lol.
