What are the reasons why Disney may choose to exercise ROFR? I'm guessing they don't want it to sell too low for marketing reasons. Are there any other reasons?

We're waiting to hear about our contract through TTS. It is for 160 points at SSR at $78/pp. 44 points left for this year.

I'm kind of worried because I had been speaking with a DVC guide a couple of weekends ago. Then that same day we decided to go with this contract for SSR through TSS instead. Does Disney watch that kind of thing and then deny people who started off with them and then decided to do a resale instead for a lot less money..........

Although now DW is kind of wishing we had bought AKV through Disney and gotten the $8 off per point and $500 reward dollars. :faint:

Thanks!

certainly it might hurt SSR sales if resales were considerably cheaper, but if they buy your contract for $78 and sell it for over $90, there might also be a little profit in that. they already have the machinery set up in terms of legal help and marketing.

i've heard that DVC has also been more eager to ROFR small contracts going to new owners, to minimize having to administrate too many tiny contracts - that wouldn't affect you, though.

but sometimes it's hard to figure why certain contracts are ROFRed while others get through.

it's possible but unlikely (check your phone for taps and see if there's an unmarked van across the street just in case though...;) ).

seriously, if it's not worth it to them to take the contract, i think they'll be happy that you're paying dues...and just try to sell you add-ons...

Hope everything goes well for you. Waiting for ROFR is agony...:worried: :hourglass

If it's any consolation, I just went throught TSS for a 175 point SSR contract @$78/pt and it went through ( took about 14 business days to ROFR done )

Just closed this past Monday...

Good Luck pixiedust:

Chalee,
Thanks for the info..............I have it on good authority that my house is bugged...........the voices in my head told me :rotfl2:

Corky,
14 business days! :headache: I will be a nervous wreck if I have to wait that long! Oh, well! Congratulations on your closing!!!!

We're in the same boat! We're waiting on ROFR with TTS for an 150 point contract at BCV. It's been stripped, so it's a little cheaper than some. I hope that doesn't hurt our chances. Does anyone know is Disney more or less likely to exercise ROFR on stripped contracts? I looked at the ROFR thread and there are several that are at our price point or slightly lower that went through but then there is one that is almost the same as ours that Disney bought, so who knows?!

We also talked to a guide and got the book and materials, so I hope they don't follow that. I can't imagine they could keep up with everyone that they talk to right?!

Good luck to OP!

My 170-point resale contract through GMAC went through ROFR last week (waived), at $78 @ point.

I'm STILL waiting to hear about ROFR!! My contract was submitted on 6/3 and I haven't heard a thing!

Ours has just been put in at $60 pp for VB 75 point contract. (30 points coming December, full allocation next December)

Wonder how long ROFR will take??? My friend here in the UK had hers back in 7 days!!:woohoo: I am still so excited to be able to buy DVC, I really am!!

smilingmouse and cerigirl, good luck on ROFR! Ours was submitted 6/13 and we haven't heard anything yet either....
