I am in the process of my resale purchase going thru ROFR and it got me thinking of all the ones Disney has snapped up. Since Disney is not reselling the packages to the public then the amount of people with points toward a home resort should be diminishing. Therefore those people that are left should have an easier tim ewith reservations.
I haven't figured out if this is good or bad:rolleyes: Just wanted to get some opinions on how Disney may in the future "repopulate" vacation clubs when they get to a certain point population. Or am I going crazy waiting for my resale to pass and just forget I asked this. LOL:rotfl2:

Disney does resell ROFR points obtained to current members as add-ons. Point increments starting at 25 pts. As a member, it is nice to know that Disney is maintaining your vacation investment by not letting owners sell at very low prices.

Disney also sells points directly to new members. You can purchase any resort directly from Disney, not just SSR and AKV.

There are people on the waiting list for points at BCV, BWV and probably VWL as well. As soon as contracts come in due to ROFR, Disney can break up the contracts as needed and sell the points to people on the waiting list.

Is there a waiting list for all the DVCR or just a few? I am in the process of trying to get a smaller resale and this explains were the WLV that was ROFR went. My current one that I am trying to get is OKW is there a waiting list for this one so that way I will start looking for more figuring that this will get rejected also. Thank you

Keep in mind that Disney has a price floor on what they'll allow for resale contracts. If someone is willing to sell at a price below that floor, and they find a willing buyer, Disney will snap up the contract at the agreed-upon price, whether there's a wait list or not.

Disney does not purchase a contract via ROFR just because there is a waiting list for points at that resort. They purchase it because the price is too low. If you want to pass ROFR, then review the data on the ROFR thread to see what contracts have passed and which have not passed ROFR. Then make sure your offer is above the price where Disney has been buying back that particular resort (ROFR levels are different for each resort). Also, if you are not currently a member and are trying to become one by purchasing a very small contract (fewer than 75-100 points) then the ROFR level will be higher in that case. You'll notice that in the data on that thread -- smaller contacts sell for a higher price per point than larger ones at the same resort.

There isn't a firm price point for each resort. There seems to be a lower end (where if you offer less than $X/pt you are guaranteed to lose the contract) and then a gray area where if you offer between $X and $Y you may or may not get the contract, and then a level where any offer above $Y is almost guaranteed to pass. So if you are a gambler, you can offer something between $X and $Y and see what happens. If you just want to get it over with on the first try and/or it's a really great contract (lots of banked points, all current points, all of next year's points) then offer something above $Y to be sure that you don't lose it. With few exceptions, the people who lost contracts via ROFR were in that gray area or below the price at which Disney was buying back contracts.

Also the levels move over time so you need to look at fairly recent data (the past couple of months).

Good luck!
