ROFR- average wait time?

30 calendars is the wait for ROFR correct? We are exactly 14 days in. When do you think we should hear?

The last week. Seems to be when most people hear. We heard on day 28.

They want to max out your wait and they work on them on Tuesdays I believe. Depending on when it was submitted and where Tuesday falls closest to 30 days, that is when they notify your broker.

Our 2 contracts were sent on 9/6 and we still haven't heard. Hoping for
this week since we are coming up on 30 days. Seems like this is taking

I hear ya! My contract went in 9/9. Seems like it has been forever and still have a couple weeks to wait. Just want to start vacation planning! Oh well, patience is a virtue I guess. Here's pixie dust for us to make it thru. ROFR. Let me know when you hear!

Its actually a misconception by many people that the ROFR process is limited to 30 days. The DVC Master Declarations state that owners desiring to sell their Ownership Interest must notify Disney Vacation Development in writing no less than 30 days in advance of their proposed closing date of their intent to sell. Legally, if the closing is scheduled for 50 days in the future, DVD would have the entire 50 days to decide whether to exercise ROFR.

Although DVD can legally take longer to decide on ROFR, it rarely goes beyond the 30 day timeframe.

Our first contract went to ROFR on 7/29/13 and we passed on 8/27th.

Our second contract went to ROFR on 9/9/13 and we haven't heard back yet. I don't think it will be this Tuesday b/c that would only be 22 days. Probably still have another week to 10 days.

I found out with both of our contracts, it was the 4th Tuesday after we submitted paperwork. Decisions come out usually Mondays or Tuesdays and you hear the 4th one after Disney starts ROFR delay. Watch and see

A couple of years ago, we had a contract take a full six weeks.

For what it is worth, last year someone did an analysis that the longer DVC took to get back to you, the more likely it was to pass. That is, the ones they really wanted they took fairly quickly. The others they just let sit there. There have been a few people post that they did get ROFR near 30 days, but the trend was that most that went longer were more likely to get through. Wish I had the link to the thread. It's back there somewhere in fall '12...
