Got the bad news a few minutes ago. I knew that was contract was a fantastic deal.

Which is the most popular resale company used?

I was working with DVCResalemarket but they don't have another comparable contract at the moment. ********* does though.

Do buyers typically stick with one company or whoever has the best deal?

Whoever has the contract you want listed. I don't know who the most popular one is, probably DVCResaleMarket, they sort of spearheaded the increase in the last couple of years of contract prices, or at least their site had the highest listing price for a while anyway. Other sites caught up I think.

Company doesn't matter, focus on the right contract for you and buy from whoever has it.

for the record I bought from DVCResalemarket and had a positive experience, but they had the contract I wanted at the time.

I just put an offer in through Fidelity, but I was watching 5 or 6 sites waiting for what I wanted. dvcstore.com is pretty popular around here, as are the two you mentioned. I think it is the equivalent of different real estate offices. Experiences will vary with different agents.

It's super easy to put in an offer on-line, but my advice would be to CALL the resale company. Often times there is a reason why the contract has a low price (contentious divorce would be one) that may make that contract a PITA even if it does pass ROFR. They can also tell you at a glance what they expect the ROFR line to be. If you want to potentially save a couple hundred $ by offering a lower price, ok, but be prepared for the ROFR disappointment if you do. That relatively small amount of savings really isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme IMHO. If you are in no rush I can totally see rolling the dice to get a good deal though.

I use what ever company has the contract I want.
