I know nothing at all about Roethlisberger, but that fact that there have been multiple accusations doesn't necessarily mean that he's guilty. There are lots of people who know that they are more likely to be believed if they falsely accuse someone whose been previously accused of a similar crime. If someone is after a big settlement, going after a rich guy who already has an iffy reputation might seem like a smart move.
I agree with you on that point and again, this is just my opinion and because he's a public figure, when things like this happen, people are going to form their opinions, right or wrong, and we're going to base them on assumptions, right or wrong, because we aren't privy to the facts and we weren't there. And because he's a public figure, with a lot of money, is all the more reason not to go out and get loaded and have sex with drunk girls in bathroom bars. Each incident casts more doubt.
The girl has stayed out of the spotlight and the news reported both she and her family requested the DA not to press charges. There was no DNA evidence, he could've been wearing a condom. FWIW I don't think he drug her into a bathroom stall and violently raped her but I do think he took it too far and that he's slimy. Maybe he already paid her off, we'll never know but I think he did something wrong, something stupid.
And the Steelers organization will not tolerate that kind of stupidity, criminal or not, as they proved today when they traded Santonio Holmes.
He's got plenty of fans to defend him, I'm just not one of them.
ETA - Just wanted to add that when I said "violently raped", I'm not saying that anything less than a women being attacked, beaten, etc, doesn't constitute rape when a man forces himself on a woman so I hope that isn't taken out of context. I hope that makes sense.
