I've kinda stayed out of this whole thread for a while now as I am *huge* Roethlisberger fan. I am also a *huge* Steelers fan. I think the 6 game suspension is highly unfair especially when Michael Vick only got a 2 game suspension and he has admitted to being an animal murderer. I think a 4 game suspension with a chance to reduce to 2 would have been more fair.

Vic was suspended for way more than 2 games.

PigBen is darn lucky he did this in Mayberry, where the janitor cleaned up the mess, the security tape somehow got erased & the only cop to speak to him that night later resigned....

He won't be a steeler for long, the Rooney's are trying to deal him as quickly as they can. Been reported that they even talked to the Browns about a trade, shows how bad they really want rid of him... Oh and no thanks we don't want him....

Ben is a dirty old man and got off pretty light. If he NFL really wanted to send a message for him and others to cleanup their act, the appropriate suspension would be for the season. Hopefully, the Rooneys will get rid of the Meatball.

Ya can't really count the time Ron Mexico spent in jail as being "suspended from the NFL".... so yeah, they suspended him indefinitely, but he was in jail for most of that time.

Ben was never convicted or charged. Yea, he might be a pig, but 6 games is ridiculous. And why is it Ben's responsibility to card some girls in a bar when he buys them drinks? yea, they were already drunk , but how did he know they were underage? Why were they in the bar to begin with? And what about the button they were all wearing? What exactly were these"girls" and I use that word loosely, looking for?

And it is a loose rumor that the only team the Steelers possibly entertained sending Ben to was the Raiders. And even that rumor is not confirmed.

Yea he is a stupid arrogant jerk who needs to grow up. But he didn't deserve 6 games, especially when the NFL is made up of thugs who have done far worse and get a slap on the wrist.

Waiting to see what the Colts player gets who actually is getting charged with rape. Yea , no one heard about that because the media is too fixated on crucifying Ben.

According to the DA there wasn't enough evidence. Even prior to the DA's announcement , the accuser would not return phone calls to the DA and decided not to go forward.

No, serving time in prison during football season does NOT count. It wasn't the NFL's decision to send him to prison and they couldn't really say "oh, well, umm, Mr Judge Sir, I know he's going to prison and all, but we really need him on Sundays"

If it were MY kid, I'd be FURIOUS that she pretending to be older than she really was so she could illegally drink alcohol.
