I'm just back from a five-night stay at the Rodeway Inn I-Drive. A pretty good budget accommodation, in my opinion. I got a special $29/night rate that appeared on travelzoo.com a few months ago.
The in-room fridge worked well. I did not try the microwave. The complimentary wireless internet service ran out of gas a couple of times, and I had to wait a little bit for the connection to repair itself. The television was rather basic; I noted that there seemed to be no way to access the front A/V inputs for actual viewing. That is, you could plug a device into the white/red/yellow inputs on the television, but you couldn't actually tune the TV to that input, I assume because the hotel set it up to make that impossible. I did not try the hotel restaurants or the pool, so no report on those.
I understand the location gets pretty nutty on the weekend in terms of really heavy vehicle traffic on I-drive. My own trip was Sunday p.m. through Friday a.m., so I was not affected by that. I'd suggest a review of the "sneak routes" advice in the Unofficial Guide for some ideas on how to cope with traffic in this area.
In summary, I thought it was a great deal, especially for 29 bucks per night.
