Hi ~ dd15 would love to buy something on Rodeo Drive. What could she get for about $50? Thanks, Sandra

rodeo drive is really over rated. For good shopping, and MUCH lower prices, hit up the boutiques and vintage stores on melrose ave. You get rid of all the tourists, and see where people who live in LA really shop.

Rodeo Drive and budget don't really go in the same sentence. There are stores there that you can't even get in without an appointment. I second going to Melrose or taking her to Kitson on Robertson Blvd. Or, head over to The Grove shopping center and, not only can she get something for $50, she might even see a celebrity or two. HTH

LOL

So WINDOW SHOPPING it is!

Rodeo Drive is overpriced but it is fun to go! You might also try Melrose in Hollywood-they definitely have places where you can get inexpensive things and its definitely a cool hang out scene.

I would DEFINITELY recommend going to the Grove instead. There is a high chance she could see celebs, and she would be able to buy stuff :)

Am I correct in assuming that she just wants to have something
that she can tell people she bought it on Rodeo Drive?

If that’s the case, there will be nice scarves or hair accessories
in that price range. I think a good rule of thumb is to add about
100 to 150 percent to any price you would spend at other (non
discount) stores.

Be prepared for really snooty sales people. That scene in “Pretty
Woman” isn’t too far off the mark. Many of the sales people
working in the shops there are on commission and accustom to
people spend thousands. A $50 sale won’t be too high on their
priority list and they may not tread her with much enthusiasm.

On the other hand, they are accustom to tourists so she won’t be
treated quite as poorly as in that movie.

Trust me Rodeo Dr. is highly overrated, Robertson Ave is great, and actually shopping online you can find even more deals. I found a code for 20% off with code "FB20" from Beverly Lane (BeverlyLane.com) which sells some really cute stuff, they seem like a forever21, wet seal type store.

There is a GUESS store and prices are the same on Rodeo. I got a cute wallet for $49 on sale last year there.
