rode in the front of the monorail!!

This was another great suprise for the kids, thanks to all you Diser's!! I snuck off and asked one of the CM's before we got on and luckily the family that was in there got off at our stop. We did it at night and it was so cool seeing everything all lit up :goodvibes

I haven't done that since 1994.

But I'm gonna try again next time!

It really was cool. A great view!

Thats one of our favorite rides!!!!!! We look forward to riding up front every trip!! ;)

We were at Epcot one day and in the early evening my parents and my son got tired so me and hubby took them back to the room and came back to the park. Well we were gonna ride the monorail and there were very few people waiting to ride and we ended up in the front. I was thinking the whole time that I wish our son had come back with us.

My boyfriend and I rode up front during our May 12-14 trip. It was the first time for the both of us.

Good for you Keddy! :cheer2:

DH and I rode up front once a few years ago, it was really neat! But we didn't get a co-pilot license :sad2: Maybe we should try again!

We rode it last September. We really enjoyed the ride and view, but the driver was an eye-roller. Didn't give us a warm and fuzzy feeling. LOL! We enjoyed it anyway.

DH set this up for us on our Feb/Mar '05 trip. It was wonderful--but not a peep from the driver! Yes, not word one even though I tried to engage him. ;) It was a little uncomfortable socially, but the view was super! Until now didn't know about the certificates--we'll be trying again this December!
If you haven't done this do make time for it--
Jean

We have been up front many times. The best is riding from ttc to epcot. Also ride the resort monorail up front.

I've tried numerous times, but it's always full :(

I try to pick a time when we are not in a rush (not at a park closing), if it isn't available, I ask if we can wait for the next one. It's always worth the wait!

My favorite ride is TT to Epcot at Sunset!

we must have had the same driver :earseek:
we did this a couple of weeks ago and not one word from him- it was me, wife and two kids- didn't matter- afterwards i said to my wife, maybe that's why he's in a small enclosed area, with minimal guest contact!!

That's one of the things that I have wanted to do everytime that I have gone but have never been able to do. Maybe I am getting there to late or not asking the right person but I am hoping to be able to do it on this trip. That would make it extra special.

19 day dance to the POP :cool1:  :cool1: :cheer2:

We were also lucky this last trip...DS loves trains and was so excited to sit in the front of the monorail. He especially loved the ticket the engineer gave to him after the ride. I was bumming that DH wasn't there to enjoy it with the kids and I.

I miss doing that - sitting in front of the monorail. I haven't done that since '02, so I'm glad that you got to experience that! :goodvibes

Lucky you! I tried to do this last year, but alas, word was out and we never got there in time. In fact, I got into an argument about it with my father. I yelled after him that we'll wait for the next one, but he was already on the monorail. He tried to jump out and the door almost closed on him. Boy, was he mad! Anyway, I never brought it up after that. Hopefully I'll be able to take dd to ride up front this year! :teeth:

Me and my DD4 got to ride in the front on our last trip and she enjoyed it. I think with parks getting more and more crowded, waiting out for the next monorail probably is the only way ensure a front seat ride.

When we rode in 2003 our driver didn't talk either. It was my fiance's first trip in the front and and 6 or 7th for me.

I just did it a few days ago. I have never done it before, but we had a friend down from Wyoming and her daughter is 5, so we tried it. We didn't even really have to ask, I just walked up there and said, "I was wondering if we could ride..." and that was it, they said there was room for four, and that was it, and thankfully enough that is all the people we had in our group. It is really fun, I searched this site looking for extras to make the girl's first time to disney special, and she had a great time.
