Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook CDs

I guess I'm getting up there in age because I am just crazy over these two Rod Stewart CDs. In particular, I love "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" on the second one. What a great song!

I'm just back from a day in Atlantic City, where they are advertising a show he will do there in July. I wanna go! I just need to figure out how to get DH to take me.

I think Rod is vastly underrated

I like him so much more than say Sting.

There are quite a few singers doing albums of the great old songs. I've heard Rod's "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered" and he does a good job on it.

It's good to know these songs are still going strong.

I bought the CD. Now, I love Rod Stewart and I love the old songs, but I was disappointed. His singing is much smoother on the oldies than it is on his own songs, like "Maggie May". I kind of miss the raspy-voiced Rod I grew up listening to.

Good luck getting tickets for Rod. I was up super early yesterday, on the phone and on the internet to get tickets, but to no avail. My dad wanted to get them for my mom, because she loves him, but the tickets sold out entirely too quick for AC.

Love both albums...even DH (who usually doesn't like anything but classical) said it was good.
I liked the second one so much, I went out and bought the first one.

I just ordered the first one and I can't wait to get it. I also ordered Bette Midler sings the Rosemary Clooney Songboork which also sounds awesome. I love all the remakes of the old classic songs. I also got Michael Buble's CD and he does all the old classics too. Do you see a trend here? I love old music. Can't wait!!

Those old songs are fine, but give me Rod singing Hot Legs, Maggie May, Stay With Me, etc.

Like the first better than II but they are both good. I did not know Queen Latifah could sing.
