Rocky Horror Picture Show..

I love love love RHPS! My DD14 loves it as well. I have been in love with Tim Curry for YEARS. Nothing makes me wanna dance like the Time Warp...

My DH and I met at Rocky Horror. Short story, we were part of the cast and would hang out at the diner after the show. We wound up sitting next to each other at the diner after the show. We were married about 14 months later.

I did the shadow cast in Erie PA in the late 70s. (Janet)

RHPS was my first date with my husband -- and we were both in costume.:)

Trying to remember packing list...lets see...
Rice
Newspaper
Squirt gun
lighter
toast
cards (for sorrow, cards for pain...back in the day, they were computer cards that were punched out to read sorrow and pain)

I know there were other things, but I can't remember now--Last time I went was in the mid 80s.

I did my 100th show at 8th Street Playhouse in the Village. It was a college celebration arranged and paid for by my friends as a birthday present :)

YAY for shadow cast members! I was one back in the 90's:banana: My parents were actually the ones to bring it to our area and those times are some of the best memories ever!

I think one of the funniest moments was finding out that my extremely conservative, always prim and proper English teacher was Magenta in college! I still can't get the image of her doing the time warp out of my head:lmao:

It's streaming on Netflix, for those of you that need a fix!
I did watch the Glee version, but I hated it. I just wanted to watch the "real" version the entire time!!!!!

I never saw the movie, but did see the Broadway play in NYC a couple of years ago - it was great!

Always have loved the movie. My birthday is Nov. 1st so it used to be my present to myself. Go to Rocky horror for halloween and then start my birthday celebration. Now my DD17 has loved the movie for a couple of years. She has the same weird sense that I do. I didnt watch Glee, but I heard it was a little disappointing.
It isnt as fun watching it in our living room, but we will take it since that is all we have now.

I thought the fun part was sitting in a theater full of people all yelling the same thing at the screen. You completely lose that when you watch it at home.

I haven't seen it since college, and I can't remember the lines anymore, other than "Meatloaf again?"

the rocky horror picture show was on last night.

Ds15 sat down on the couch with dh and started watching it with that "wth look" on his face. He quickly lost that look as he got a kick out of listen to us talk about wearing a rain coat if you didn't want to get wet during the one part. How lots of people would dress up as their favorite. And all the other fun stuff you have to do during the movie.

Thought he was going to spit water all over the place, when i came running out of the bedroom to do the time warp. He was laughing so hard, dd13 had to come out and see what was going on. So she stood there with that "wth look" on her face watching me time warp. By the end, she was shaking her head and telling me i was to never do that in front of her friends. Just to make her night, we replayed it - twice - just so i could teach ds how to do it. According to her, pelvic thrusts and her brother don't go together.

But she did sit down and watched the rest of it with them. Ds now wants us to get this on dvd for him.

love it !!!!!!!!!!!!

DD21 is into RHPS and i watched glee with her... she was saying the lines... i think they say a lot more now..... i remember being able to hear the movie lines.. not just the audience!!:lmao:

We may have been at the 8th Street Playhouse at the same time. :cool1:I went a few times, probably in 1984 and 1985. Fun times. Now my 17 year old has been going with her friends here in Jersey. My 13 year old was watching it last night, and just the last week the 2 1/2 year old is requesting it, not sure how I feel about that one, one of the problems of having teens and a toddler.

This COULDN'T be the same Rocky Horror that a local theater group did here, could it? I thought it was terrible! The whole show was about a bunch of people on stage simulating having sex. Is that the show all of you are saying you want your kids to see?
