They are going to have an unmanned rocket launch at KSC the day we are planning to visit. I called and they said that they are not organizing a viewing area, so IOW just show up and find a place to watch from. Does anyone have any tips for rocket launch viewing??

Thanks!!!

Is December 6th the launch you are thinking of?

We are hoping to be at KSC at that time, so I'm anxious to hear the answer, too.

Actually December 1st

We were there a few weeks ago and they were going to have an unmanned rocket launch the day we toured Kennedy and they told us the best place to watch was from Cocoa Beach. We headed there and enjoyed a few hours on the beach byt a thunder and lightening storm cancelled the launch for that day. So . . . I can't tell you if it will be a great place to view the launch but we could see what we thought were the Kennedy buildings from the beach and there were quite a few people there to watch it so I suggest you try Cocoa Beach. We are from Washington State and just the opportunity to swim in WARM ocean water was a treat for us!

Wow, thanks! I would have never thought to bring the swimming stuff to KSC, but I put it in the car just in case.
