Which is better long term for driveway?

I use regular old sodium chloride(table salt) much cheaper and doesn't tear up the cement.

When I saw "Rock Salt", I just assumed this thread would be about homemade ice cream.

I don't know. I'm using Kosher Salt, because i just happen to have a large box of it from a project. Parts of my driveway are pitted since i have used it, so i'm assuming that the rock salt did something to it. We'll have to have it partially resurfaced before we put the house on the market.
