Well, first of all, you usually say, "rock, paper, scissors, go (or shoot)" and both people at the same time pump their fists for each word... on "go" (or shoot), you make a fist (rock), hold out your hand flat (paper), or put your fingers in a V (scissors).
Rock beats scissors.
Paper covers rock.
Scissors cut paper.
Rock beats scissors.
Paper covers rock.
Scissors cut paper.
Unless you are inventive like my DS.He was playing with his DB and my DH and he "shoots" a thumbs up sign. MyDh asks him what the heck that is supposed to be and he says " Hand grenade, it beats everything". My kid is such a hoot! I love him to death
Rock is a fist
Paper is a flat hand
Scissors is the peace sign--but held so that you can pretend they are scissors. So I guess that isn't peaceful afterall.

LOL - I grew up playing with that symbol (fist with thumb up) and we called it dynamite. It beats rock and paper, but loses to sissors (they can snip the wick). I was quite shocked when I found out it wasn't a "real" symbol - lol.
DH and I always played rock, paper, sissors to see who had to change the poopy diapers!

ETA - if you both choose the same symbol, you tie, and thus play that round again.
