Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

Hi everyone! I'm back from my trip and finally getting caught up here on the DIS. I need to start the TR for last week but I'm not sure when that will be. I've got a lot going at work right now so it may be next week before I get the time. In the meantime, here's another update on the October TR.

It was finally time for our WTP FP so we headed there and got in line. It wasn’t long before we were boarding our honeypot (that’s not a sentence you read every day is it?).

My goal during this ride was to finally spot the picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed over to Owl.

And there’s that picture, I finally found it!

And that was it picture-wise. I’m not sure if I took a bunch more and they just didn’t turn out or if I was too into the ride and forgot to take more.

We were officially done with everything in Fantasyland that I wanted to accomplish. I did check on the new Princess Meet and Greet but the wait time was 125 minutes. Jim didn’t want to meet the Princesses that badly!

We moved onto Tomorrowland and visited the Carousel of Progress. This is another show that Jim really likes mainly because of all the GE appliances. He works for GE and likes to see those.

Next was another favorite of mine the TTA.

We put our feet up and I took a picture to show we were relaxing.

Jim thought once again that I had gone way too far with the picture taking. I explained that the picture was necessary for my TR and he mumbled something about us all being nuts under his breathe. He just doesn’t get the obsession.

There was one last thing left in Tomorrowland that we had not done. Not the Astro Orbiter. Since Jim hated Dumbo there was no way I was getting him on that one. Not the Tomorrowland Speedway either, I can’t tell you the last time I’ve ridden that one. We were headed to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.

The show was fun, I don’t remember anything unusual happening and neither of us got picked on at all.

Goodness, how did I get so far behind again??? :confused3 So sorry! I see that you DID end up getting the lego set for Jim. Glad he was able to assemble it with no complications! :thumbsup2

Love all the pictures of Fantasyland. We just didn't get to explore it as much as I would have liked, but it will happen one day!

I enjoyed following along with your last trip on FB! Can't wait for THAT report to start! The wedding looked absolutely gorgeous! :bride:

Anywho...wanted to let you know I am still here! :thumbsup2

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear about the trip!

You got some great pics of WTP, I can never seem to get any!

Even if DH doesn't get it, we certainly appreciate all your pictures! ::yes::

Welcome back! Hope you had a nice trip. :) Hahah, it is hard to explain the obsession to people who just don't get it. Sigh.

I had heard the Laugh Floor changed a little bit. Did you notice it being different?

Welcome back.....nice to see another update on this thread. Love the feet up on the TTA.

I love the Pooh ride. And I have never seen that picture with Mr. Toad and Owl...I'll have to be on the look out when we are there in nine days.

I love COP...it's where I take my nap mid-day. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The People Mover is the best. And good for you getting the foot picture even if Jim doesn't understand our obsession with it. ;) You got some great pictures from the People Mover.

my post is gone!!!
:confused3

Welcome back! your pictures off of facebook were outstanding! yes i was a total stalker!! :lmao:

I love the monster scare floor..

Goodness, how did I get so far behind again??? :confused3 So sorry! I see that you DID end up getting the lego set for Jim. Glad he was able to assemble it with no complications! :thumbsup2

Yep, he is totally addicted to Legos now!

Love all the pictures of Fantasyland. We just didn't get to explore it as much as I would have liked, but it will happen one day!

I still find new things and I've been there four times now. I can't wait to see it completely finished once the Mine Train is finally done!

I enjoyed following along with your last trip on FB! Can't wait for THAT report to start! The wedding looked absolutely gorgeous! :bride:

As you know I've already started!

Anywho...wanted to let you know I am still here! :thumbsup2

No worries on getting behind, I do that all the time!

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear about the trip!

You got some great pics of WTP, I can never seem to get any!

Even if DH doesn't get it, we certainly appreciate all your pictures! ::yes::

My new camera has been wonderful on the dark rides. I even got a few in Peter Pan this last trip! I'm glad you guys appreciate all my pictures even if he doesn't.

Welcome back! Hope you had a nice trip. :) Hahah, it is hard to explain the obsession to people who just don't get it. Sigh.

Yes it is definitely hard to explain. I usually don't even try anymore.

I had heard the Laugh Floor changed a little bit. Did you notice it being different?

They have added some Monsters University elements to the show but it hasn't changed too much.

Welcome back.....nice to see another update on this thread. Love the feet up on the TTA.

Thanks, I'm glad everyone on here appreciates the picture!

I love the Pooh ride. And I have never seen that picture with Mr. Toad and Owl...I'll have to be on the look out when we are there in nine days.

It's in Owl's room which is the second one I think. It's on the left when you first enter the room. You almost have to look over your shoulder to see it. I was very surprised I was able to get a picture.

I love COP...it's where I take my nap mid-day. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm kind of getting there with that one, Ive seen that show the last three trips I've been on. If Jim wants to go on it in May I might be taking a nap!

The People Mover is the best. And good for you getting the foot picture even if Jim doesn't understand our obsession with it. ;) You got some great pictures from the People Mover.

Thanks, I knew you guys would appreciate the pictures!

my post is gone!!!
:confused3

Oh no, wonder if you posted it to someone else's thread? I've almost done that before.

Welcome back! your pictures off of facebook were outstanding! yes i was a total stalker!! :lmao:

You can't be a stalker because I accepted you as a friend! ::yes::

I love the monster scare floor..

I really enjoy that show too but I do get nervous I'm going to get picked!

After Monsters University, we had actually finished everything I wanted to do ride wise on this day. So we headed towards the Hub to check out the Halloween statues. It was already crowded with people waiting for the MSEP which was still several hours away.

I also posed with the Pluto statue that is always in the Hub. I have my picture with this one from several different trips.

The next picture is for a friend who loves the Chipmunks. I wonder if she will notice?

We then stopped for a few PP pictures in front of the castle.

It was about 5 pm at this time but we weren’t quite hungry enough for dinner so we shopped our way down one side of Main Street and back up the other. In the jewelry store, I told Jim that he needed to buy me a charm for the Pandora bracelet he bought me. He picked out a Mickey Mouse one.

When we got to the end of the street I decided to check on the Mickey meet and greet but the wait time was 75 minutes so that wasn’t happening.

I debated a few items in the Emporium but didn’t buy anything at that time because I knew we would be back through on our way out. I did take pictures of our favorite guys.

Then Jim decided he needed his picture with Donald. I guess I should have waited till the area cleared of people but that might not have happened for a while since it was pretty crowded in there.

I had gone over the different choices for dinner and Jim picked Peco Bills so we headed that way. We both got burgers but Jim got sweet potato fries while I got regular fries.

For dessert Jim got carrot cake and I got chocolate cake.

The burgers were good. Not the best I’ve had at Disney but they filled us up.

When we left Peco Bills, Frontierland was pretty crowded because of the people waiting on the MSEP so I steered us around through Adventureland to get back to Main Street. As we passed the Magic Carpets I warned Jim to watch the camels because they spit. Just as I said that, I got a face full of water from one of them! I guess you really shouldn’t look directly at them when walking by. Jim of course thought it was pretty funny. I have a history with those camels, they seem to get me every time!

I had decided what I wanted at the Emporium so we stopped back in there. I got a stuffed Dumbo:

And a baby Pluto. I have no idea why I’ve never purchased this particular Pluto before.

Yes, I am still 5 years old. Pluto joined the gang in my Pluto room and Dumbo sits on my dresser next to the framed photo of me in the Dumbo car.

We checked on the Mickey meet and greet one more time but it was still a 75 minute wait time. I asked the CM there if it really was that long because I thought for sure it would have cleared out some since the MSEP was about to start. She said yes it was because Mickey had just started talking to guests so everyone wanted to see that. I had totally forgotten that had started while we were there.

So right at 8 pm as the MSEP started, we headed out of the park and to the buses. I don’t have in my notes how long we waited for a bus so I’m guessing it was quick. On the way back, Jim turned to me and asked where the health club was at CSR. He apparently was very worried about how much weight he had gained with all the food we were eating and wanted to weigh himself. I really didn’t think there would be a scale but I humored him and looked up the location on the MDE app. It was somewhere in the Casitas so we got off at stop 2 and followed signs to the club. As I suspected, there was no scale so we headed back to the room. Oh, and in case anyone is worried, no he did not gain any weight during the trip.

As we walked, I took some night pictures of the resort.

We stopped in Panchitos on the way, I have no idea why at this point, maybe to pin trade? While we were there, Jim decided to buy this Donald key chain. He has it on his work bag.

When we made it back to the room it was only 8:45 pm and we really weren’t tired yet so I suggested we go check out the Arcade. Jim was game so we set out. I didn’t take either my camera or phone so I have no pictures from our adventure this night.

We found the Arcade easily, its right near the main pool, and cashed in our 100 free points that comes with your DME package. The Arcade was kind of disappointing and small but we played a round of Air Hockey. Jim beat me easily and then we found one old 80s video game that had Centipede and Bowling on it. We used up the rest of the credits on those two games then headed back out.

We checked out the playground area kind of by accident because I thought maybe we could get back to the room that way. Instead we found a dead end and a ping pong table. We tried to play ping pong for a while but we are both awful at that game. We spent more time giggling and chasing the ball than actually playing. The game came to an abrupt halt after I smashed the ball into the bushes near the table. Neither one of us was willing to venture into the bushes to get the ball after seeing the snake earlier in the week. So we gave up and headed back to the room about 9:30 pm. Lights out that night ended up being around 10:30 pm which was good because we had a very long day ahead of us.

Jim was worried about gaining weight at WDW? Isn't that the point about being on holiday? :confused3

Great pictures. I'm loving following your days here.

You know, I noticed a lot of people waiting really early for the nightly entertainment on my last trip, too. It's a little odd to me.

Oh my goodness! That's too weird about the camel. I'm guessing Jim heeded your warning after that. Haha!

CSR looks so pretty. :)

That looks like a really nice and easygoing relaxing end to a day, especially an MK day at that! Lol!!

Shopping is always fun! And I LOVE that Dumbo! I have seriously wanted to buy all the dumbo merch they have! I got a shirt last year and just love it, he's freaking adorable!!

I have to say, I have actually been to some of the gyms on property now! :lmao: they are handy, but are more crowded before park opening times, which wasn't ideal, but makes sense lol Glad Jim didn't gain any weight lol!

You know, I think I'm going to have to give CSR a second chance, I really didn't like it, but it also wasn't ideal for the solo trip that I took, so maybe again in the future!!

What a fun couple day you had!!! Enjoying each other, leisurely roaming and AWWWWWWWW kind of day!!!

your pictures are fantastic again!!! love the stuff you bought too! YAY on your charm! shocked you didn't get a pluto???

LOVE the plush Dumbo!!! with a feather no less!!!

Love all the photos around the hub and in front of the castle!

Cute Pandora charm you got!

I love that stuffed Dumbo!

I think it's cute that you guys checked out the arcade and played some ping pong! A nice way to keep the night going a little while longer :)

Jim was worried about gaining weight at WDW? Isn't that the point about being on holiday? :confused3

Great pictures. I'm loving following your days here.

He is a bit of a diva about his weight. I think it's because he was a bit overweight in high school and doesn't want to go there again. Sometimes though he gets a little too obsessive with it like he did here! Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying the TR!

You know, I noticed a lot of people waiting really early for the nightly entertainment on my last trip, too. It's a little odd to me.

I know, there is no parade or show that I would sit for three hours to see. I did sit one time for about an hour in Liberty Square for the MSEP but that was even a little too long.

Oh my goodness! That's too weird about the camel. I'm guessing Jim heeded your warning after that. Haha!

He did! I know they are just random but for some reason they have a vendetta against me! I've been hit by them on three of my last four trips and the fourth time they were turned off!

CSR looks so pretty. :)

It is a very beautiful resort.

That looks like a really nice and easygoing relaxing end to a day, especially an MK day at that! Lol!!

I know, not my usually style, hub? If it was up to me, I would have stayed till the end riding as many rides as I could get in. But I had to take Jim into consideration.

Shopping is always fun! And I LOVE that Dumbo! I have seriously wanted to buy all the dumbo merch they have! I got a shirt last year and just love it, he's freaking adorable!!

There was a Dumbo shirt I almost bought when I was there in March. I didn't get it and now I seriously regret it because they haven't had one since. :sad1:

I have to say, I have actually been to some of the gyms on property now! :lmao: they are handy, but are more crowded before park opening times, which wasn't ideal, but makes sense lol Glad Jim didn't gain any weight lol!

That was the first and probably the last time I will be in one. I do work out at home but at Disney I feel like I get enough exercise with all the walking!

You know, I think I'm going to have to give CSR a second chance, I really didn't like it, but it also wasn't ideal for the solo trip that I took, so maybe again in the future!!

It was definitely not my favorite. If I had to pick one it would be CBR right now. But we'll see if that changes after I stay at POR in May.

What a fun couple day you had!!! Enjoying each other, leisurely roaming and AWWWWWWWW kind of day!!!

It really was a nice day with a pretty fun ending!

your pictures are fantastic again!!! love the stuff you bought too! YAY on your charm! shocked you didn't get a pluto???

They don't make a Pluto one! :sad1: I think they may be phasing the charms out because they haven't had any new ones in a while.

LOVE the plush Dumbo!!! with a feather no less!!!

I know, isn't he cute!

Love all the photos around the hub and in front of the castle!

Thanks! I enjoyed seeing those Halloween statues.

Cute Pandora charm you got!

It was a pretty nice way to relax and finish out the night since we got back so early.

We were up by 7 am on Thursday, October 24th, 2013 and out the door by 8:20 am. This was one of the rare days that a bus was at the stop when we arrived. We hopped right on and were waiting in line at Epcot at 8:40 am.

Despite getting there fairly early, we were still back a ways in line.

Jim had on a shirt from the TV show 24 that said “Bauer’s School of Interrogation” and a guy behind us noticed and commented. We ended up talking to him and his family while we waited.

They let us in right at 9 am. Since we were only going to be at Epcot for the morning, I had to make our first FP+ for 9:05 – 10:05 am in order to get them all in by 12 pm. Our first one was for Test Track so we headed that direction.

Not sure why the red cards are necessary in the FP line but Jim was handed one which he was very excited about.

When I was there in March, you did not get to design a car in the FP line but they have changed that now. We walked pretty much right to the entrance to the Design Studio where we were put in lines to go in and design our cars.

There were screens above each door that gave directions on what to do when you got into the room.

Jim and I were each assigned our own station but I did see them grouping some people together on one station. You have maybe five minutes, I can’t remember for sure, to design your car. The first car is mine and the second is Jim’s. You can’t tell we’ve been married for 15 years can you? I’m not sure I would have remembered which was which if it wasn’t for some pictures you’ll see further down in this installment.

And our ride photo:

As you can see it was even too early in the morning for the single rider line to be open. And despite the look on Jim’s face in the picture, he loved this ride. It turned out to be one of his favorites from the week.

We ended up playing around in the dump area for a while. I was in love with the color of this Chevy Malibu in the display area.

Jim then decided he wanted to get his picture taken with the car he created so he got in line. You scan your MB at the kiosk:

Then you enter some information including your e-mail. Your car comes up on this big screen and you can pose with it for three pictures. Then the pictures are e-mailed to you. Here’s the pictures I took while he was doing it.

And here are the three pictures that were e-mailed to him.

He decided he needed to do the same thing with a Chevy Camaro they had on display. My picture:

E-mailed pictures:

After playing around a little and browsing in the dump store we headed out and on to the next adventure.

I think they hand out the red cards so that they can also measure the FP line wait time as well. They do list the wait time for the FP lines so I guess they use the same system for collecting the data.

Nice pictures from TT. It's my family's favourite ride at Epcot.

I still haven't been on the new Test Track! Shame! I'm glad it was Jim's favorite! Sometimes it's nice when people don't have the old version to compare.

I still haven't been on the new TT either .:faint:..can we even say it's NEW anymore ? See now your cars, and being married that long, is just too funny I'm anxious to see what Fred & I will design being together twice as long as the two of you...horse and buggy anyone ? :rolleyes2

Except for the fireworks border I think your pictures came out much nicer than the ones taken that were emailed to you
