DD9 has this on the to do list for this years break.
She has probably been tall enough to go on prior years, but we felt she was not ready for it.

We are not great coaster fans but will have to brave it for the sake of the troops :scared1: ;)

Looking for tips, advice regarding what to look out for? Which ride car offers the tamest or wildest ride :)

The rule with any coasters is right at the back is always the worst as you get a bumper ride.:) it will be the same for any ride i.e BTM.

Can't help, I'm afraid Reid, but just wanted to say how brave your DD is, much braver than me! :rotfl:

My DD, then aged 9 went on this last year with her Dad and loved it. She says it's one of her favourite rides and can't wait for them to go on it again this year. Rather them than me though! :scared1:

Just keep reminding yourself that the ride itself is less than a minute long and resist the urge to run from the queue line, n.b. this gets more difficult when you can actually see the victims, sorry, riders ahead of you blast off.

You're not helping guys :lmao:

I think I'll tell Diane it is just like BTM and wait to see the ride photo :woohoo: :rolleyes1

It is not that bad, :)
space mountain is much worse.

Hi, this is my first post so please be gentle!

The front seat in each car has a central pillar that can be very uncomfortable if you have long legs - I had huge bruises after riding the front. Don't let that put you off though, the ride is a blast.

The start is definitely the hardest bit, I would recommend tensing your muscles for 'take off', but it only lasts for a couple of seconds before you hit the first corner.

TBH on my first ride I couldn't stop laughing all the way round and the music really fits well, especially 'Love In A Rollercoaster'! Try it, you won't regret it. I also believe that the Paris RaRC is better than the Florida one, so you'll have bragging rights over Disney Worlders.;)

My mum will be giving it a go this year and she's (dare I say it) on the mature side of 60...

Bragging rights over WDW has just sold it to me :goodvibes

victims, sorry, riders ahead of you blast off.

......or their pale, blank faces - full of relief when they pull up to exit :rotfl2:

Sorry Reid but I 'dont do'the big 'uns either cos Im a yellow belly too :lmao:

DD (and a forced DH :rotfl: ) do them all but I just dont get it. They are petrified beforehand and shaking afterwards. :lmao: Yet they say things like 'that was fab Mum, you should try it !!!

BTM and Indian Jones are their favorite choices BTW ;)

I love RNRC. If you want a ride that's not too scary (relatively speaking) take the 2nd car from the front. RNRC is quite smooth, so I think you could be alright. Personally, I always head for the back to enjoy the wildest ride.

Go on it, enjoy, and feel a sense of achievement.

And I too agree it's better than WDW's.

Wow I wonder when my troops will get to the point of wanting to go on the fast ones. I am like Billy no mates and have to go on myself :lmao:

I find RnRC to be very comfortable and smooth. I always push my feet against the seat in front of me, push my head against the head rest to avoid getting my head thrown around but that`s more necessary while riding SM. You have a brave little girl:thumbsup2 It`s a fantastic ride! I talked a friend of mine into trying it (she is afraid of coasters) and she just loved it, we did it 3 times in a row!:goodvibes

On a serious note DS who couldn't wait to ride it, didn't like it because the music was too noisy.
All the way through the ride I kept telling him to rest his head back and he wouldn't, it was only when we got off that he explained this, I can't say I noticed the music level but wondered if the speakers are lower down than adult ear level. :confused3

Older DS enjoyed it and rode several times in a row and he hates SM, says RNR is a much better ride. :)

Both RnR & Space mountain consitantly suffer broken speakers, sometimes you can hear perfectly other times silence.

My DD (JUST turned 6 at the time) Was desperate to go on this ride but the lady at the entrance said she wasn't tall enough. She was gutted and got a certificate to say when she came back she would be tall enough or something like that.

Later on that night (don't ask me why:rolleyes: ) we noticed someone else at the entrance and asked if she was tall enough and he said yes!!!:woohoo:
We were just about to go on when someone came up to us and said they thought she was too small so measured her and according to that measurement she was about 2mm too short. They got another member of staff over and they took my DD aside and explained to her what it was like and if she wanted to go on it it was up to her!!! And told her she would probably be scared really bad. Being the bad parent I am I let her decide!!!

Well she went on it and loved it!!! But later on that night in bed she woke up every half an hour crying thinking she was going to fall out of the coaster!! This went on for about 5 hours!!

In the morning she wanted to go back on but as you can guess she was told under no circumstances was she going on it in the next 5 years!! Looking back I reckon it was a form of child abuse letting her on it but she had been going on about it constantely for 2 days so we gave in!

Has anyone gone on it on their own...I did it once and my bum was lifting off the seat and my legs were EVERYWHERE...not a nice experience!!:scared1: Went on all the time with my husband after that so he wedged me in!!!:rotfl:

Fantastic ride though...I think it is the best one there! Space Mountain a close second!

Anyway what was the question again?:rotfl:

Its so quiet at opening time or later in the afternoon, 12 goes in row is my record.

However my voice did ache a bit after (not screaming but shotting Aerosmith songs!)

I read a great tip on height restrictions in a Disney guide; If your party includes a shorter child or a brave younger child they can sneak into the ride by wearing built-up or high heeled shoes! Apparently works every time :thumbsup2 but I wouldn't try it on stilts!
