Which is the better ride, and why? I've never ridden either of them, but I hope to ride RnR this July.

I personally liked Expedition Everest better, but I wouldn't be able to give you a reason why. ;) It's just what I like better

I think they're very different. EE is really cool because it changes direction and there's the audio-animatronic Yeti, so it's almost more show-like. RnR, IMO, is more thrill ride, traditional roller coaster. But I do love both! Have fun!:thumbsup2

Same here, I LOVE both. EE is great with the backward helix, RnR is cool because of the music and the inversions. I ride both several times each trip!
EE is great at nite too, if you can make a dark EMH!

You have to do both!!

But honestly i like RnR better. I love the music and i laugh the whole time. I love EE too, but i get a bit nauseous on it because of the direction change, the animatronic yet WOULD be cool but it's not working and hasn't been for awhile.

Of the two, EE all of the way... but I do love RnRC as well. ToT, RnRC, and Fantasmic all tuked away over in that corner of HS is one of my favorite areas in the World. Those are 3 of my favs, for sure.

Last time we went was April 08. DD4 want to go onto the RnR but she was too short. She is hoping to get on it next time..she went onto the ToT twice instead(with DH)..crazy girl.

If you only had the choice of one ride or the other I would choose RnR. At least then you could do ToT which is better than either one imo. EE is great too though. Tough call honestly.

I feel that EE is a more unique ride. It is the only coaster that I have been on that has a reverse section with switch backs. RnR is a great ride with terrific theming but is similar to others that I have ridden like Flight of Fear at Kings Island. None of these are big thrill rides like Diamondback at KI or Millennium Force at Cedar Point (got my first ride on this yesterday).

I personally love RnR.
The atmosphere is just so exhilerating, and I love the lights and music!
EE is great too, if you get a chance do both!

I like them both, but like RnR better. I have this big grin on my face from the moment we pull up to the launch and it doesn't go away until long after the ride is over. I like the whole concept or experience. The music is great, some songs better than others, but all good. :goodvibes

I'm torn between the two because I love both of them.

On the one hand, EE is more of what I'd consider a traditional coaster in that it doesn't do anything "fancy" like going upside down or anything. Feels like there's more variety to the experience than RnR, though with the switchbacks, going backwards, steep drop, etc... You can also get some great views of the park.

On the other hand, RnR has the fun blast of speed at the beginning and is an overall fun concept. My qualm with this one (and it seems I'm the only one on this) is it's hard to get the full experience once the ride gets going. I love that it's in the dark and the music, but with the sounds of the ride itself/everybody screaming/just being overwhelmed, I couldn't hear the music at all, which I was really looking forward to.

since i haven't been to DW in the past 8 years i haven't rode either of these...but i am looking foward to riding both of these in october especially EE which both of my parents rave about everytime they come home from DW.

EE was a little rough for my tastes, though it was fun.

RnR is just awesome, I love corkscrews, I love the music, but most of all, I love the Speed!

From someone who is definitely on the timid side when it comes to rides, I did both and really enjoyed them!! I will do both again in a heart beat. I particularily loved EE as it was so smooth, I didn't even experience a real difference on the backwards part (which is what I was originally so scared of). After trying it, it became my favourite coaster!! I LOVE EE.

Now, TOT, that's one I still need to conquer (I even wrote my own thread starter to get some honest reviews of it, in hopes I can conquer my fear of it!)

I say do both, you will probably end up loving them! :thumbsup2

I prefer Expedition Everest. My head gets banged around on RnR and after two rides I have a headache. I also like the theming better at EE, and the big drop, and going backwards.

They are both very good for very different reasons. Ride them both, you won't be disappointed.

I would list these two coasters as my favorite rides in Disney World. It's not by a wide margin, but Expedition Everest is first for me, and Rock N' Roller Coaster is second.

I think that EE is more "Disney-ish." It has an adventurous narrative and the amazing museum-like queue area that hypes you for the ride. I love how immersive it is, and the coaster itself is really fun (especially the backward inversion, as other people mentioned). The view from the first high hill is amazing!

While RnR technically has a storyline as well, it's not quite as epic. (Glad to help Aerosmith out anyway. ;) ) The 0-to-60 blastoff is great though, and the ride itself is probably more thrilling, story aside.

I would have such a hard time choosing, but if I were only allowed to ride one thing in Disney World, it'd probably be EE. I hope you get to ride both, though!
