Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Closed for Past 2 Days

We did! I guess I really shouldn't complain, we had some wonderful things happen for us (we were picked to sit in the front row for Festival of the Lion King, pretty cool). My family, DH, DD and me, have been 4 times in the last 2 yrs, we're huge Disney fanatics! So we've done most everything at least once. This was the first trip for my sister's family, I actually had planned HS because it was my nephew's birthday (he loves all things Pixar..Cars, Monster, Inc. etc.) plus I knew he would looove Lights, Motor, Action show (again with the really cool stuff happening, he was chosen to participate in the show! so the was awesome !). I had actually thought in the planning stages that just us adults would ride RNR, my fav! but after he rode all the other rollercoasters, it was just disappointing. This was also our(my family's) first trip w/o scheduled ride closures so again just really disappointing to look forward to something for months and then not be able to do it (I didn't ride RNR when we went in Nov as we didn't have other friends with us and my DD is only 5 and not able to ride, she usually sits out with my friend who doesn't ride the rollercoasters). It was also really HOT! It's very possible I'm just complaining because I didn't anticipate the heat to be a draining as it was! Lol!! Looking back in an AC room with a little rest, we did have a good trip, especially with such a large party with a bunch of kids!

Oh good, i'm glad you had a good trip overall! :) Wow! We haven't had that one yet, but i'm sure that is a great experience. Did the children get chosen to walk around with the performers in the finale? Nice! Huge Disney fans - just like myself!!! Did he enjoy LMA? Its great he got to take part in the show - thats something he'll never forget! :) Yes, when you don't expect it, it sorta disappoints you a bit when you cannot ride. But rides have to undergo some unexpected closure, but I wouldn't have expected such a long RNRC closure. The weather in Florida atm is really hot, unusually hot indeed. The Florida heat can be really draining - try going in August! Its pretty hot then too!! Trips are always better with a large group, especially if there are kids, as its extra magical for them! :)

I just don't get the point of getting upset over something trivial. Things go down. Sometimes there is a major issue. Sometimes it's a minor thing. I didn't realize it would be something to get so upset about.

Please, OP, do not let this person make you feel bad about yourself. It is far from trivial for that particular ride to be down unannounced for two straight days. For the reasons noted by other posters, it basically ruins a day at the drastically stripped down DHS. That's not a trivial waste of money. Nor is it a trivial disappointment for one of the few rides that's not boring to little boys to be closed. Besides, it hardly seems like OP is "so upset" by merely mentioning how the impact of this unplanned closure were greater than expected, that is, non-trivial. I think the vast majority of DIS regulars would agree.

Thanks :-) I don't think it's trivial. It is very unusual for an unannounced ride closure for 2 days with no estimated reopening. I Haven't heard of such an extended closure before, for a few hours, yes, but 2 days must mean a pretty big problem. Can one not be curious, it seems not according to some of these posts!! DHS is empty enough attraction wise as it is, and a closed E Ticket doesn't do the park any favors. I'm not upset by it at all, as you say, the impacts of the closure is huge, especially during one of the busiest times at DHS - Star Wars Weekends. You don't expect a 2 day (so far) closure to occur, it is not a trivial matter. I am not only pre planning my trip, but am also interested in the rides etc. so I would understand what's wrong with it, if someone knew (I believe another poster said before that nobody would understand anyway). Thanks again for your comment - much appreciated

Is it still down? The lines app has a 57 min wait on it. Only care cause I'll be there next week and I would like a heads ups before heading to the park that day. And hoped that app could let me know.

Not sure why the lines app is showing that, but if you scroll down further, everyone is submitting that it's offline

It was very disappointing to us because after my nephew (8) rode Everest like a champ I had him all excited to ride RNR and we actually waited around the park with really nothing to do hoping it would re-open, which obviously it did not, just a real bummer for our last day. Had we known it wouldn't re-open, we would have left a lot sooner and had some nice down time at our resort since other ride options really weren't there (ToT 120 min wait, Toy Story 140 min wait, Star Tours 90 min wait). This park needs a serious revamp! Hate spending the extra $ for hopper since we can spend a full day in all the other parks, no problem but HS is at best a 1/2 day and it 1 ride down and what it,does to wait times, it's just a total waste of a day :(
Sorry, I was there all day yesterday and those wait times are not accurate. TOT was a max of 75 mins, and star tours was a max of 60 mins. I do agree the DHS is not a good park right now, and not worth paying for a full day admission but the Times that you posted were not accurate of what was really going on yesterday.

Yes - it was still offline, hasn't come back up yet. Which app are you referring to? My Disney Experience?

Maybe, but the poster was also there yesterday so surely would be accurate. Wait times change throughout the day, so it may have reached the higher wait times. I did see on MDE ToT going above 75. Definitely got to 100. I would agree, if you are paying for on-the-gate admission, then it isn't worth a full day. But if you have an extended park hopper ticket, then it's still worth visiting, there are some good things in the park

Why do you care WHY the OP asked the question. You obviously didn't have anything useful to help him so instead you come here with your not helpful, not empathetic response? And the OP didn't even say he was upset, he was just asking why RnRC is down. I clicked on the thread because I was curious, just as the OP was curious. And I don't even have a trip planned for 11 months.

Next time you want to question someone's intentions on these boards, just remember the old adage, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

OP--
I totally understand. We leave in a week and it will be a big blow to us if it's not operating. I'll probably still go to studios for ToT and Fantasmic.
If anyone finds out an estimate on how long until it's fixed please post.

Hopefully it'll be in operation in a weeks time - would be very very concerned if its not!! It is still listed as closed, so nobody knows any length of closure/re-opening date etc. at the moment.

Thank you for your comment! :) I was only posted the thread to see if anyone knew any more, or if anyone knew what was going on! I am not upset by it, nor will I be terribly upset if it down for our trip, but I am just curious as to why it is closed for what is a third day running - this isn't a normal occurrence for Disney, and I am interested to know what may have caused such an extended closure of a popular E-Ticket.

FYI - I have now heard rumors that it may be an issue with the LSM launch system on the attraction. Still have no indication as to when this attraction will re-open.
