Based on my experience, Rock City is a wonderful and more affordable alternative to Disneyland and Disney World, plus it is all natural. They also have the Fairyland Cavern at the end which includes somecof the Disney characters and to me, the entire experience felt just as magical as Disney. I highly recommend this place.

Having flashbacks of living in Nashville and driving I24 to see my son in Chattanooga (how I hated 24!!!)

Memphis here. We would pass the "See Rock City" barn on the way to Gatlinburg. I know we stopped a couple of times.

Rock City isn't even close to Disney. It's worth a look if you're already going through the area. But I'd never plan a vacation around Rock City like I would Disney. Rock City and Ruby falls can be done in about 3 hours.

Ruby Falls is pretty cool too though. No, they don't at all compare to Disney!

We enjoyed a short stay in Chattanooga a few years ago. In addition to Rock City and Ruby Falls (and the other big Lookout Mountain attraction—Incline Railway), we visited the Tennessee Aquarium, other attractions and shops downtown, did some hikes, went whitewater rafting, and did some wild caving. It was a great trip.

Yeah Disney doesn't have Plate Nate and Sarah Spoon. Gas up the vehicle.

Have you done the rope course next to Ruby Falls? It's a lot of fun. Also not too far from there is Cloudland Canyon in Rising Fawn Georgia. That is a great park.

Wasn't it referenced in American Gods? The description there did not make me add it to my must see list.

Our Cub Scout pack visited Ruby Falls, Rock City, and Incline Railway in 2019. Does it compare to WDW? NOPE! Not even close.

Incline Railway was a waste of time. Easily waited an hour at both the top and bottom of the mountain to board. If it had not been part of our combo ticket we would have skipped it. Ruby Falls and Rock City were ok, but I'm not sure either are worth a return trip. If I'm looking for a cavern there are others to visit.

Yeah, from here, Mammoth Cave and Blanchard Springs are just as far as Ruby Falls, and have so many more options to see. Ruby was fun as a kid though.

Went there several times as a child while visiting family in the area. Our favorite things were Fat Man’s Squeeze and the swinging bridge. I wouldn’t compare it to WDW, but a nice place to spend a few hours outdoors. Used to be called Rock City Gardens.
