Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster on ride photo question

OP - I believe a few months back people started reporting that all the new on ride photos were showing up in MDE with the border automatically added. You couldn't crop/edit/rotate anything and then add the border, they came with it pre added, just like you mentioned.

It did look like they had a lot of options on their computers in the gift shop, but they’re just not available in My Disney Experience.

Yup. Photopass CMs have had the ability to add many many stickers & borders to pictures that guests cannot for quite a while now. For instance, they had the sticker functionality way back when Photopass just let you do borders. The borders/stickers do get associated to pictures based on how Photopass tagged the pic when it was first taken. If the CM didn't tag it properly, borders might not show up that should otherwise be visible. This is why some people have luck contacting Photopass and having them add borders that were initially missing. But in this case, that wouldn't apply. Whatever edits the CM made to your photo should have been able to be loaded to your account, as long as they properly saved it and then associated it with a card/band to load onto your MDE account. You may still have luck contacting Photopass support and asking them for assistance in getting a non-bordered copy of the picture.

Wow, that’s incredibly generous of you! I will download the full res photo and upload it somewhere when I get a chance in the next couple of days. Do you recommend a specific hosting site? I never use them. I don’t know if it’s something I can attach in a PM or not. Thank you!
You can email it to me. My Gmail acct and disboard have the same username. I'm just killing time all day tomorrow anyway, a visual arts project might be fun.

:offtopic:
What does it mean with so many people these days taking pictures of themselves with selfies (actually here a WDW picture) while holding their hands like these people (not sure if this picture is of the OP or not) with hands usually contorted and index and little finger extended? And very often tongues out, also usually contorted looking? Does anybody know the answer?

I'm speechless.

Update: I called the photopass help number. They were not helpful. The person I spoke with had no idea what I was talking about. When he insisted the on-ride photos were already in portrait orientation, I knew I was off to a bad start. I had him pull up the photo in question and apparently they don’t have the ability to do anything more than we can do on the website. I asked if there was any way for them to contact a cast member who worked in the photo shop in RnRC or would know something about how they operate there and he said no. The only suggestion he had was to go back to the ride shop on my next visit and talk to them. I have already done that, but luckily for me, as an Annual Passholder, I can at least try that again, knowing the previous help I received (“use the website” and “I put the photo as you see it here on this photopass card”) didn’t work. Now, the only problem is photos don’t always show up right away when you add them to your account, so if they give me the “right” photo on a card again, I may not know if it’s actually right until I’ve left. Again. I’m still going to try. I’ve spent too much time already; I’m pot committed.

I am still amazed this is not something they’re prepared to handle. It seems like lots of people would want to be able to use the ride photo in the ride frame.

On a positive note, cobright made up a nice collage with my ride photo that will fit as an 8x10 in portrait. A big thank you to him. :thanks:
