Robitussin Cough Gels

I needed a cough med for DS tonight and the only thing in my medicine cabinet that applies are these new Robitussin Cough Gels. The problem is, they say "non-drowsy". Does that mean they keep you up? Or they just don't put you to sleep?

Bottom line question: Can these things be used at night instead of a plain old cough syrup?

Non-drowsy probably means keep you awake. Look for the ingrediants, sudafedrine (sp) is usually in things labled non-drowsy.

The active ingredient is Dextromethorphan. Is that OK for use at night?

There's an 800 # on the bottle, I'm gonna call tomorrow I guess. It's kind of a moot point for tonight as DS is asleep(and not coughing anymore) but I'd like to know for future reference.

Dextromethophan will not keep you up, it just doesn't make you drowsy. It is okay to give at bedtime.

Exactly..........I work for the company that manufactures the Robitussin soft gels and anything with suphedrine will keep you awake but not like a caffine awake just more alert whereas most of the benedryls will make you sleepy, don't know what the ingrediant in that is but I know when I have a problem sleeping I will take one of those!
