I am so mad right now I could spit. My husband called me at work this afternoon and told me that the police were on their way to our home. It seems someone scaled a six foot chain link fence, kicked in our back door and stole our flat screen t.v. my laptop computer, a bottle of vicadin, a jar of change with about $180.00 in it that we were saving for vacation, (it was one of those jars that count the $ and my grandson had just emptied it and put it all back in it so I know how much was in it) and emtied my jewelry boxes.  We had to have someone come and secure our back door, they put plywood over the whole thing. Now I am afraid to go to sleep, thinking that they may come back!!:scared: Needless to say, I ordered a security system tonight and it will be installed before the end of the week. I know it is a little late now, but better late than never. :sad2: They did all of this in broad daylight!!! :confused3 The police seem to think that it was kids, now I ask you, if your kids came home with a flat screen tv and a laptop that they didn't have yesterday, wouldn't you be asking some questions?? I know I sure would. It looks like it is going to be a long night...:surfweb:

Scum. Pure scum.

I hope they are caught and serve the maximum penalty.

I actually hope for worse, as the world has no use for scums like that.

I have no use for thieves. Evil. Invasive. Traumatizing.

I can't imagine how you feel:hug:

Not if they didn't bring the TV & stuff in anyone's house.. Maybe they have a hide out? a tree house? a fort? A garage no one uses?

Sorry you lost your stuff but at least no one in your family was hurt

I am so sorry this happened. I know how violating that feels. I hope you get some sleep and they catch them. :grouphug:

Hoping your insurance covers your losses. Just thank God nobody was home. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry, I can only imagine how mad 'n upset you are.
The burglars probably won't come back 'n I hope your local law enforcement finds your belongings.

I'm sorry that happened, it's such an invasion of privacy to start with :(

Second, I'm glad to hear about the alarm system, better late than never, and this is a good reminder to take photo's of your valuables and to write down serial numbers for insurance purposes should it ever be needed....

I just realized this week there is a lock that can be installed to keep flat screens from getting stolen, I have no further information as it is something my husband saw at a friends place.... I'll be looking into it for our property.

Wow, that is terrible. Our office was broken into by kids, probably. they took change from the drawers, some other stuff. It quickly added up to over $4000, but nothing close to losing personal items like jewelry. THat is what makes the crime so invasive...

And we did the same thing, after. We got an alarm.

They will not be back, they got something already and now they are expecting you and neighbors to be wary.

Mike

I'm so sorry, that's terrible that anyone could do such a thing.

I would be thinking that most parents would be asking questions, but you never know. Kids have to learn this kind of behavior from someone.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, I guess I just need to vent. We work hard for everything we have, and make an honest living the way most people do, and then someone comes in and steals it from you. :sad2: They were really neat about it, they didn't mess anything up, They even picked up the broken door pieces and set them on the dining room table. It looked like they took what they wanted and then left the same way they came in. Over a six foot fence! How in the world do you get a flat screen over a fence six feet tall? :confused3 I agree that we were fortunate, nobody was home, and our dog was in her cage, so they didn't hurt her. And considering the damage they could have done....yes we were fortunate. Again, thank you for the kind thoughts.

I know when my dbf's truck was broken into we felt so violated. They stole a huge container of change and wrecked both of his locks. He had just moved here to Ohio from MA and hadn't even gotten close to unpacking everything yet, so it was a great "welcome" gift for him.

I hope whoever did this gets caught!

So very sorry to hear that happened to you. I can't even imagine how you are feeling.

Yesterday at about 5pm, a house around the corner from us was robbed as well. It seemed to be a young man dressed in all black with a hoodie and a HUGE black duffel bag.

It's tough out there right now, and that what makes me nervous.

Good Luck to you

I'm sorry to read about this. :( I wonder how they got the TV over the fence too!

:grouphug:

I'm sorry, you must be feeling so many emotions right now! Can't imagine anyone having the nerve to rob your home in broad day light!! Glad no one was hurt and hope your homeowners help in replacing your losses.

 I am so sorry to hear that this happened to you and your family. I am very thankful that no one in your family was physically injured during the break in.

Definitely get the alarm system. Take pictures of everything and keep a set in another location.

Ask the alarm company, the police or sheriff's department, and your insurance company for their handouts on household security. They have some very good information on securing your property.

I really hate this happened to you! I hope they catch whoever did this. May the thieves make a mistake that leads the authorities to the items they took from you and maybe others. PM me if you need a shoulder.

I couldn't agree more. These types of people are a total waste of space on this Earth in my opinion. Is it a harsh opinion? Yes, but I don't care one bit. Worthless people.

We had the same thing happen 2 years ago while we were out of town for Thanksgiving-and in broad daylight also. Same things stolen-flat screen;computers, much jewelry etc. I felt so violated- and my DH worked nights at the time- I had to have the MD prescribe meds just so I could sleep! In the end it totalled over $10,000 stolen- and we had an idea of who did it-and the police didn't even really care:confused3 After that I stopped donating to any police causes; and now all my really good jewelry is left in a bank safe deposit box. The insurance co. was awesome though-state farm-although they did cancel us upon renewal- so that was another nightmare. Glad no one was hurt and that your dog is ok.

I'm sorry that this happend to your family. Hopefully, your insurance will take care of most of it.

From what you described though it doesn't sound like kids to me - hopefully the police will find out for sure soon.
