Road noise - recent experiences...

FYI, for those who keep track of such things...

My two DVC stays in the past few months:

1. BCV, Room 165 - right next to canal and road to BW
2. OKW, Room 3827 - Old Turtle Pond Rd, overlooking Bonnet Creek Parkway

I found the road noise to be substantially louder in the OKW room, but still did not have trouble sleeping. Fears of road noise at BCV seem to excessive based on my experience.

We were in unit 275 at BCV from the 18th - 25th of October and did not find the road noise at BCV to be an issue. I believe that is right above the unit that you had.

Disney Doc...thanks for posting your observations. We own at VWL and BWV and for us, the only noise problem we have encountered came from very noisy neighbors!!

We stayed in #355, a studio overlooking the road and some of Epcot at BCV, and were not bothered by road noise. We generally travel off season....February for that trip...there is a lot less traffic on the roads then. I found the road noise to be much less than I have at my house.
Illuminations was quite loud on the otherhand. But that is a good kind of noise .

We stayed in BWV 4131 (preferred view) this summer and only experienced noise from the service area driveway that runs behind there---nothing from the valet parking lot. There were several trash/delivery/service trucks going back and forth at different parts of the day.

Last week I was in 1828 at OKW. It's located in a pocket between Community Drive and Bonnet Creek Parkway. I didn't notice significant road or bus noise.

As someone else said, the noise was usually from a neighbor. Someone nearby wore shoes with heels on them every morning and made sure they stomped on the tiles over and over again.

I just returned from BCV, room 469, located right over the canal and facing the road. I could hear lots of traffic, especially in the morning rush hour (7-ish). Though I could hear the cars and trucks, it was muffled with the doors closed, so it was not an issue for me.
