I had intended to mention this in my trip report and forgot!

Last week, I was waiting for one of my DDs to use the restrooms kind of across the road from the Tiki Room around 8pm. In between the men's and women's restrooms there is a bench built into the stone facade. I thought I saw something moving in the crevices of the rocks and when I looked closer I found that there were at least a dozen roaches crawling on the rock!

There was a girl sitting on the bench and she noticed me examing the rock and kind of freaked out when she saw the bugs!

I'm still not convinced that the roaches aren't actually animatronic, and were intentionally put there by Disney, but they were real enough give the poor girl on the bench a scare!

Yuck. You're joking about the animatronic part, right?

Wasn't there a post about a sewage smell coming out of Adventureland or Frontierland recently?

Ewwwww!! May I just say I will definately pay closer attention to where I sit when we are there. That is so yucky!!

Oh my! :earseek: I'm not sure I'll be able to eat a Dole Whip(which we've been looking forward to trying) after reading this. Aren't they in this same area? Not appetizing. :rolleyes1

I've seen some pretty big ones over at the Rivers of America after Fantasmic (and once during the show). One actually crawled over my foot after the show. It could have been worse--could have been a tarantula. While roaches are just a bit gross to me, I'm very arachnaphobic.

I don't think that you can find a person that's a bigger roachaphobic than me... :earseek: this does NOT impress me in the very least, and after this trip we will NOT be going in September again (still very warm for them then). That's how freaked out I get at even the mention of ANY sight of them. Some say they would rather see them dead than alive, well I would rather see them NOT AT ALL! January is sounding pretty good to me!

You know, the best thing about Boise....NO ROACHES exist, and anywhere with no roaches is paradise to me...Give me freezing weather any day to keep roaches away! :cold: :rotfl:
Sorry for the rambling, but this really freaked me out....

Umm... pick me? I grew up in South Florida, the land of giant Palmetto bugs. UGH I am really wishing I hadn't seen this thread! I must figure out a way to get into denial quickly. :teeth:
Yes, they were animatronic roaches. Cool!
