RNR scary? Coaster wimp!

Ok, I need the truth.
How scary is RNR? On a scale of 1 to 10 and I want comparisons to Space Mountain.
I did not ride it last May because I was very sick after riding TOT!
I couldn't ride it during our December trip because of a stomach ache I got toward the end of the day.
I'm a chicken but my DH says it's his favorite ride, but he also loved TOT and I hated it, the feeling.

OK this is from a baby when it comes to these things.. It is a very smooth fast enjoyable ride.. I will not go on TOT but have been on RNR a bunch of times and enjoy it every time.. Im not saying that it is not fast but for as much of a baby as I am i can handle it with no problem and sometimes would love to go on again right after.. Im sure you will be fine and enjoy it.. Who knows you might go back in line again.. Hope this helps calm you a little i know i was very nervous about it before i rode it now its the first thing i want to do there...

I didn't think it was that bad either. It is a very short ride and we were stopping right after it started. It is also very smooth in our opinion.

I'm curious about this ride also because of DH. He has neck and back problems but he can ride Thunder Mountain and Primevil Twirl (if he leans his head back into the head rest before the turns). However he rode Space Mountain in May and he could barely walk off the ride because he was in so much back pain. It was way too rough and jerky for him. Dinosaur is also very rough but he can tolerate it. I know that RnRC is suppose to be smooth but what is your opinion on him riding since he could not do Space. However, he's not a coaster wimp.

OK, let me give you another wimp's view -- I hated this ride! From the time it took off to the time it stopped, I couldn't open my eyes. It went so fast and upside down (which kills my stomach) that I really didn't find it enjoyable. I had tears streaming down my face from the speed of the ride by the time I got off. On the other hand, I loved TOT since all it did was drop you. Couldn't pay me enough to get back on this ride!

Although the tracks are smooth, RnR does, in fact, throw your head from side to side at a couple of points in the run as the car changes angles.

That's the thing I dislike most about RnRcoaster.
I do ride it every trip (and Space Mtn. as well) but these two are the most "violent" of the "coaster-type" attractions at WDW.

BTW, THE most violent ride in ALL of WDW (for those with neck and back problems), is Dinosaur.

if you go onto www.google.com and type in RnR video you can actually see from someone's point of view riding what you would experience. Maybe this will help. It is fast and you do twist upside down.. I am a coaster fanatic so of course I love it. It is not for everyone.

If Space Mountain is a 5, I'd give RnR a 7.5. It is fast and furious and the inversions are great, but cannot be seen. I don't know if that is a plus or minus to those who don't like going upside down.

My 5 year old son loves the tamer equivalent at our local Six Flags park. If he meets the height requirement, I bet he will enjoy RnR this November.

I am a total coaster wimp! Don't like Space because it is too jerky. I was hesitant to ride RNR but my DD convinced me to give it a go! LOVED it!! It is smooth and I don't think jerky at all. MY DH who has back problems also loves this ride. Next to splash I would say RNR is my fav ride in the park.
Dinosaur gives me a headache jerking my neck around so much.
DH hates TOT does not like the dropping feeling. I like it. TOT is a totally different kind of ride compared to RNR.
Give it a try, till you ride you won't know if you like it or not.

Ok I love Thunder, SPlash, Space, TOT and Everest, Rock N Roller Coaster scares me - I have gotten better... somewhere on here I read when you take off take a deep breath which may help - that first time I went on that ride I could not spek for the first half of the ride, I think I was in shock--- I am not wild about the upside down... but Iam getting better! This is my fiance's favorite ride

I'm not a coaster wimp. I love them, but as I get older I am more hesitant.

That said, RRC was thrilling - smooth, fast, fun. I really liked it a lot. But I felt just a little beat-up and dizzy when it was done.

My DS - 10 is a cautious fellow, but when we went last year he gave it a shot...and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. And he is definately NOT a daredevil.

Strangely, he will not try the loop-style roller coaster on the Boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ.

"You've been on the Rock and Roller Coaster," I say, "You loved it. Why not this one?"

He says the darkness on RRC is comforting. "You can't really tell you're upside down," he said.

My dad has pretty bad neck problems, some days it's so bad he can't even turn to pull out of the driveway. Dinosaur was really hard on him(although he did enjoy it.) He said what he liked about RNRC is that he had a good amount of support and padding from the seats. He said he probably wouldn't do it over and over again in one day but he didn't have any problems going once or twice in one day. For the record he didn't do Thunder or Primevil Twirl and Space Mountain killed him.

I personally have vowed never to do Space Mountain again and the same for Primevil Whirl...'cause they both have caused pain (lower back on SM and all over from PW) (I'm turning 39 in about a week and a half).

However, I would never miss a chance to ride RNRC 'cause it's probably one of the single smoothest coaster rides I've ever taken!

i loved rnrc and so did my kids, with that said if space mountain or thunder mountain causes you pain in your back or elsewhere then i would not suggest riding it at all, if on the other hand you are just worried about whether or not you will like it give it a try, but i wouldnt do a ride that is possibly gonna put you in pain on your vacation

Yes...back in May went with a trio of friends (all in our thirties). We loved this ride. Went on twice in a row at the beginning of the day and it was so thrilling. Very smooth (though the backwards portion really can grab your gut, it doesn't hurt...). I would still hold off on breakfast before going on though! (grab a bagel at the tea/coffee cart near Everest for a nosh before heading onto the rest of the park!).

We all agreed on the painfulness of PW, though. For the record, tilt-a-whirls don't normally hurt me, but this ride is WAY too hurky-jurky (sp?). And it spins SO fast that we all just ended up mashed into each other, leaving us no chance to recover between spins and drops.
