RnR Preshow - Did they ever....

Ok, I've noticed something at the RnR preshow and I was wondering if anyone can confirm my theory.

During the show where Aerosmith is in the process of arranging a limo for us, one of the band members asks in the mike for his guitar. A non descript guy with long hair and a grey shirt comes in from the right and says "I'll get it", then exits to the right. You don't get a good look at his face. If you'll notice, there is a studio door to the right and a guitar on a stand just inside the door. A little while later the same guy hands the guitar to the band.

Here is my theory... I think they planned the original show for a cast member in a grey shirt and wig to come out that door at the right time, grab the guitar and take it back in, just in time to hand it to the band.

So, what do you think? Was this part of the original show? Did anyone ever see that happen?

I vaguely recall that "Chris" used to actually grab the guitar for the band...but it may also have been a heat stroke induced dream.

When the ride opened, there actually was a live cast member in the room for this purpose. A few years later they decided to cut this position to save some money.

My DDs get so embarrassed when I yell out "Give us backstage passes!" right before Steven says "hey, I like that idea" (or whatever his exacts words are). I started after one time when a CM did it and I realized that the original plan was for someone to yell it out.

Yeah, I've heard the CM yell that too... Maybe I'll steal your idea. I'm always looking for new ways to embarrass my DD's too.

Fiddling around with guitars to look busy probably wasn't quite as fun as getting to hold a gun and yelling, "Little Red is OK!" every 30 seconds.

At least it was air conditioned, though.
