Riviera for tower studio or SSR for more points?

With your extended plans I also would lean towards SSR and more points or just paying less for the same amount as other places. If summer trips are also part of your plan then it is possible to get studios at several other resorts at 7 months including pool/garden view at BWV, PVB and BLT as well as OKW, AKV and then you never know what else might end up available. Fall and early December would be the times that would be more difficult to switch out of SSR but people are changing plans and sometimes you can find other locations but it's not something to count on.

I am trying to pay the least amount of money right now and get maximum enjoyment out of my contract.

If you are trying to pay the least now I would look at AKV, SSR, or BWV.

First one is cheap but great home resort. Second is just cheap. Third is cheapest with the walking to Epcot/HS.
