We have a choice to stay at the Riverside or the Yacht Club. Has anyone stayed at both? Which one do you prefer? :confused3 It seems like the Yacht Club doesn't have a big selection for breakfast.

They're very different. Both in amenities and price. But I would also pick an Epcot deluxe resort over a moderate. The convenience of walking to Epcot and DHS cannot be overstated. Yacht Club has TS breakfast offerings, as well as something lighter in the lounge, I believe, and then also the Marketplace next door in the Beach Club. Boardwalk Bakery is only a few minutes walk as well.

I'm going to assume you're talking about the deal through a certain travel agency. I switched from POR to the YC and it's actually costing me less. You'll probably never get a chance to stay there at that price again. I would definitely go for it. The location can't be beat.

POR is my favorite Moderate but I would choose YC over it every time. SAB, Walking to EPCOT and DHS are seriously great benefits.

We stayed at Riverside in February and didn't care for it. But, we have stayed at BC and the amenities of the YC and BC are hands down (IMHO) better than Riverside. We have been to the YC many times for meals and love the atmosphere. We plan to stay there one day.:goodvibes

Have stayed at both. It's a no brainer YC all the way. As far as breakfast you may miss the food court if you are used to that, but we are not big food court folks, so we do TS at a park or a resort near our park of the day anyway even when we stayed at POR.

To answer that question I always look at three things, room discounts, who I'm going with and what's the focus of our trip.

For instance, if it's summer with the granddaughter it's all about afternoons in the pool and the shortest walks to/from the room. For that trip of the two I'd do a preferred room at POR. Also, if you have a little girl (or you are a little girl at heart) and don't mind a little bit longer walk to the food court a royal room at POR is lots of fun. Or if you have 2-3 kids traveling with you the AB rooms at POR are nice because of the kids murphy bed option giving you a 5th sleeping space.

If it's all adults for food and wine it's about location and the shortest bus ride or better walking since we all like the option to drink without having to drive or ride the bus to far. For a trip like this I'd prefer YC.

So who are you going with and what are your plans?

Stayed at both.. Several times. While I love POR, I would pick YC in a heartbeat.. Totally different experience. YC is deluxe and has interior corridors.. I love the captains grill ( say Hi to Meghan) and the pool..is beyond words.. Plus, walking into Epcot and boating to DHS... And turndown service.. Do I need to say more???

Can you give us more details? Thanks.

I've stayed at Riverside twice and love it but if I had the opportunity to stay at YC for virtually the same price, I would do it in a heartbeat. The only thing I would miss at POR would be the food court. YC/BC do not have much selection for QS and we like to eat a QS breakfast each morning before heading out. But, to be able to walk to Epcot, boat to DHS, have the Boardwalk easily accessible, and Stormalong Bay - so worth it!

YC!!!!!!!!!!

(and this coming from a person who is doing a split stay with both those resorts in a couple of weeks :))

Another vote for YC. We've stayed at both. We love the POR food court, but we love the rooms, pool, and location of YC more.

I second this question...where did you find this deal?
While I LOVE POR, I use to stay at Y&B and Boardwalk for work trips once a year and the location just can't be beat. Even with 3 little ones, I think I would jump on the chance to stay there if the price was right. I am not likely to spring for it at rack rates though...I'm just too cheap!
Soooooo, if that deal is still out there, I want in!

I can take a guess where the deal is coming from, but it's a TA that is not permitted to be mentioned on the DIS. Or in PMs on the DIS. Their name is actually blocked by the DIS filters for some violations of DIS terms of service. You'll have to research it elsewhere.
