Has anyone been here for the all you can eat pasta buffet? Is it opened late and can I get there from any of the parks quickly? Thanks

When we stayed at PORS last Fall the foodcourt, Riverside Mill, had a "create your own" pasta window. You could pick your pasta, sauce, veggies (like mushrooms, roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, etc.) and either chicken or shrimp for $9.99. It was a huge portion and was cooked up fresh while you watch.:thumbsup2 IMO, it was really good (but if you don't like salt, say so, because some of the chefs added big "pinches" of it.)

Unless it's something new this year, it was not available all-you-can-eat and wasn't a buffet. Of course it may be something new. Maybe someone that stayed there more recently will comment.

You can get to Port Orleans by bus from the parks or by boat from Downtown Disney. The hours for the pasta window are until midnight - but I don't know if you can make your own pasta this late (they have pizza and other pre-made pasta dishes).

Have a great trip!:goodvibes

I think that the portion may big enough to share. If you were still hungry, there is a ice cream window in the food court - the sundaes with Mickey sprinkles were excellent :thumbsup2

Perriwinkle is correct - we were there last week and it's single serving, not a buffet. It's a station where you tell the CM what you want - he/she puts your ingredients in a box, then passes it down where you watch it be cooked.

It was more than enough for me, but not quite enough to make a full meal for both me and my husband.

The pasta is good but no way would I make a special trip to POR for it unless you were really interested in checking out the resort.

We always stay at POR and as others have said, it is not all you can eat. IMO it is huge portion and there is plenty there for two people. I think it is pretty good and there are several options to add into your pasta. If you are big eaters, Ide rec. getting the pasta and one of their sandwiches to split, I love their sandwiches and Im a vegetarian, so always get them with extra cheese and no meat and think they are great.

Now, if you are not staying at POR idk if it is something Ide make a special trip there for, but I think their food court area is better than most of the resorts on property that we have stayed at. HTH

Are the portions big enough to share for 2?

Really depends on your hunger level. We were on QSDP, so had only 2 meals per day. We made the most of our choices, so one night for supper I got the pasta and DH had the roast turkey plate w/ veggies & cornbread. Some other time for a lighter lunch, we might split the pasta dish and then be able to finish our desserts (which we could not do this time)!

I must say, it was very good though!! Like a PP said, they make it to order. I got Alfredo Penne w/ Shrimp, added artichokes, kalamata olives, mushrooms, roasted red peppers. Then we went in the lounge to enjoy Yehaa Bob!! :goodvibes

Thanks, I don't mind it being a pasta window and single service. Plus we really want to check out the resort. I can't imagine all you can eat pasta ... with mu hubby we could be there all day and I really want to enjoy the parks

DH and I tried the make your own pasta a couple weeks ago. We made a special trip just to try it and are glad we did. DH and I both felt it was too much food (of course we had the sundae too :)). We both had the chicken but it didn't have a lot of seasoning so we wish we had tried the shrimp. I did not feel it was too salty in fact I salted mine. It is definately worth a special trip over there especially if you are on the dining plan and want a break from hamburgers and want something a little more expensive. DH had the marinara sauce (with some kind of meat in it), penne pasta and chicken. I had the fettucini with alfredo sauce, chicken, parmesan cheese, spinach and I don't remember what else. It comes with very good garlic bread. The only change I would make would be to ask for a plate. The people sitting near us did when they split theirs. It comes in a chinese food box which makes it a little difficult to eat. It would have been nice to spread it out on a plate.

A plate! Good thinking. I want to eat it not wear it and the chances of me spilling some on me are good if I eat out of a box. Thanks for the heads up.

At the riverside mill food court do you get a ticket that gets stamped with each item you purchase and has gratuity added? I've read Cornado Springs does this in their food court so I was wondering if it has evolved to all the moderates? Thanks!
