Rivers of Light Return?

I know, they canceled it permanently and dismantled floats, etc. However, when looking at my Magic Band options tonight, there was a pre-order option for a Rivers of Light magic band. Given that magic bands are usually generic or are specific to new/current things, that surprised me. Nothing about it being an anniversary or commemorative thing, it was a "pre-arrival exclusive." What kind of glitch is this, or might there be a ROL 2.0 coming?

I can't imagine they're going to leave that area empty after dumping all that money into it, nor will they want to miss the chance to capitalize on the dining packages. There will be a new version of the show at some point. Probably sooner than later.

Maybe, though it wasn't one of the ones that showed up before our last couple trips which I thought was odd.
I saw that yesterday as well, and it definitely wasn't there 2 weeks ago when I first went in to look at magic band options. It made me wonder if they will bring it back just because it's a known quantity (as far as logistics and cost to run) and they could roll it out quickly once they start doing night shows

Considering how long it took them to roll it out originally I doubt they could roll it out now quickly either, especially since they appear to have dismantled all of the floats. Unless of course they decide to put together a couple of them, tow them across the pond with a rope and call it ROL. At this point, nothing would surprise me when it comes to Disney's ability to cheapskate their way through entertainment.

Last time I looked the magic band selection still had 2020 branded bands on there. They don't seem to clear out old stock there much.

I had bought that one just before ROL terminated. I have to go with a previous poster’s conjecture that more were found.

I feel like they could bring it back right now but ROL didn't have the highest appeal... wouldn't be surprised if they scrapped it. The thing is that it couldn't have been nearly as expensive for them to do it as Fantasmic or Happily Ever After.

Once it was closed, I haven't read anything about them bringing back a night time show to AK.
Rivers of Light, both versions , were underwhelming. Hoping they can come up with something better in the future.

There were neat elements and I think it could be made into a good show, but I do wish they would try something there again.

Rats! Somehow I missed that this was completely cancelled- I just assumed it was temporarily suspended b/c covid/distancing.

I know it never lived up to the hype, but I did enjoy the music and relaxing with it at the end of a long day.

:worried:

I saw both versions the same night. I didn't think the changes, basically adding in Disney IP, made RoL significantly better, or worse. Both shows were OK but not spectacular. Many nights I made a point to stay in EPCOT in order to watch Illuminations. I didn't put RoL in that category. Better then one and done but not a show to make plans to see again.

I think the bands in mde were just to burn off stock ….
Though there will be a new daytime kite show coming to that amphitheater
