Rivers of Light Fastpass

So if the show is cancelled you don't get a refund on the dining package?

Not often a critic, but seriously, if you miss it, don't stress too much about it. Easily the least of the nighttime shows at Disney. Wanted to be blown away, but something just doesn't quite click. I'd try and use one of the reservation finder services for a dining package. That way you don't have to sit on that 3rd FP all day when you could be stacking your extras
I think it's easily the best....from the open to the end, I'm in awe of the music, the lights, the water...I love all of it.

Nope.
And, that is specifically spelled out when you look to book the package.
It is also true of the various "dessert parties" for fireworks shows, etc.

Disney Parks Blog has some of the back story. Frankly, though, if you need to be convinced to spend your valuable time going to a show, you probably just shouldn't go. It's not a punishment. If you go into something new expecting not to like it, well..... maybe just let someone else have your seat.

I'm guessing you are responding to one post on this thread, because that's not what most of us are saying. I actually prefer to go in to something with low expectations, then be pleasantly surprised if it is better. That being said, I did have a FP for ROL last summer, and while it was a nice show, I won't be seeing it very often (similar to my feelings for Fantasmic). I think everyone should try it once to make up their own minds.

Is there a second show for the ROL?

There can be.
Sometimes they announce two shows on a given night from the very first posting.
Or, sometimes they announce adding a second performance as the date gets closer.
(No set time in advance.)

I agree 100% about seeing it for yourself. I love some of the night shows, and other people are excited for them to be updated.

On a side note. If I'm unsure about a show, I'll watch the first minute or two on youtube. I know it spoils it to some degree, but it lets me know if it's something I'll enjoy.

I was. Specifically the pp that said that "No one has been able to tell my why I should spend my valuable time...etc". I agree with you, people should see it for themselves to decide. I just think feeling the need to be convinced to do something - at DISNEY WORLD- is silly.

I'm in this dilemma for our May trip - FP or dining package. We will have 2 nights at AK, one dedicated to Pandora at night and one for seeing ROL. Right now, I am planning to use a FP (if I can snag one) to see ROL, but I am considering doing a dining package when they become available. Due to a picky eater in our group, it would pretty much have to be Tusker House, and due to budget constraints, we'd have to give up another dining reservation. I'm not sure how confident I am about finding a 4th FP for ROL for 4 people.
