That was from Jims podcast episode that was released December 1st. So if that report from Jim is true Iger didn't like it prior to November 30th. Jim Hills report does not regard tonight's viewing that he attended.

I also assumed that ROL would be running when we are in AK on Jan 2. Had hoped to catch the show then we have ADRs @ Sanaa for 8:30. Oh well!!

I saw Touring Plans had their review up. Indicated the show has some real highs - but a lot of issues including pacing, the music is not memorable, and the lack of storyline

One thing I've seen in a lot of other reviews is that people did like the music. If it's like illuminations music I'd be very happy but then I do know there are people who don't like illuminations (I don't know how though lol).

Their view wasn't that it was bad, just that it wasn't unique: "It’s as if you asked a computer to blend together every other Disney nighttime audio track, and add words about nature."

I mean, everyone knows the music to Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic!, etc. - sounds like this doesn't have that aspect to it

That's what I was thinking (hoping!) - for the other stuff Disney has said "Spring 2017" or "Summer 2017" - the fact that ROL just says "2017" leads me to surmise that they are shooting for "ASAP" but can't say 2016 as it's still in testing. Maybe.

Perhaps they are looking for the opposite effect. 1st they announce April 2016, RoL obviously misses the deadline. Now they announce 2017, but open in 2016. From behind to early just like that!
