Hi all - will be at AK on Friday Jan 25th.

Have a FP+ for ROL at 6:45, but then found out there is a later show at 8P.

Park close is at 8P that night.

Any considerations or advantages to one show over the other?

We have an 8A breakfast at Tusker House, so we will have plenty of time that day for either.

Thanks.

With the earlier show, you’ll have plenty of time to head to Pandora afterwards to enjoy the land at night and ride either Attraction with a low wait time.

When we did this last year, Na’Vi was a walk-on after RoL. :goodvibes

We went to the 2nd show last summer. We had FPs but didn’t need them as the theater was only about 1/3 full. It looked to be packed for the early show.

While the early performance was in progess, we had enough time to ride Everest and Dinosaur twice each plus a night safari before getting into the ampitheater just as the show was starting.

With the early show, you won't be in the mass stampede to the buses unless you wait until closing to leave.

The vast majority of guests leave after the first/only night time show.

Except for Epcot, thete are very few people still in the parks at closing time.

If the park closes at eight but the show is at 8:15, do you have to use extra magic hours to attend? (we do not have EMH so that’s why am wondering)

If you go for the second show (and maybe even the 1st), one advantage would be that you could release that FP and use it for something else earlier and have the ability to go beyond the three without that RoL FP locking in that third spot for the entire day. One thing I've enjoyed is picking up an evening Safari FP as a 4th, even if I've done KS earlier in the day...its a different experience at night. Even then, while waiting to board one of the ride vehicles at KS, I've been fairly successful at picking up another FP for RoL.

Nope. The 8:00 closing basically means they won't let anyone in the park after 8:00 and attraction lines (especially in Pandora) will shut down at 8:00. You're still welcome to watch the 8:15 RoL.
