Can't seem to find where the River of Lights can be seen from. All around the lake? We have no fast pass and have and ADR for Pizzafari at 7pm..... so would like to be closest to that location. Is this even possible? Schedule for day we are going says River of Lights starts at 6:30 and is 15 mins. long

There's stadium-like seating for the show. You could likely see bits and pieces when walking around outside of it, but you really can't see the show unless you're sitting in the seating area. If you sit in the back row and can get out fast you could maybe make it, it would be tight though. Pizzafari is on the opposite side of the park as the entrance/exit for the show is near Everest.

There is a seating area you will enter near Dinoland/Everest. I'll borrow @Robo's maps to better help explain.

If you're a couple of minutes late for your ADR, thats okay. It will take time to file out of the "arena", find your stroller, etc. It may not be the worst idea to have someone head there by themselves just to let them know you guys are coming but if you're 5-10 minutes late you'll be fine.

On an average moderate crowd day how packed is the standby seating? Do we have to be there 30-60 minutes early to get a seat?

Thanks for the info. I am curious too to find out the answer to Huff's question above. It is a tightly planned day for us and it is supposed to be a "3" Crowd level day as per TP.

With limited standby seating you will want to be in line at least 45 minute before the start of the show. If there are two shows the second show of the day is easier to get into.

THANKS for the information. We hope to immediately go to FOP and get in line before park close. We were unable to get FOP at 60 days like many, so instead of RD, we are HOPING to experience FOP at end of day, park close. Perhaps we will be luckypixiedust: and snag a FP for ROL after our 3 FP are done. SO EXCITED for FOP and looking forward to ROL. :yay:

That is my plan as well Jerseygal! We actually do have a FP at 5:50 for FOP. It is our third one of the day.... so.... maybe I can get another FP for the 6:30 ROL once I get off FOP and run on over. Then once show is done.... run back to our Pizzafari reservation at 7:15. ( I changed my reservation to make it a little later)
Then I am going to BED!

New Question.... If you do get lucky and get a FP for ROL.....can you show up at 6:25 and still be assured a seat?

If you show up outside of the FP window, no you are not guaranteed a seat. The earlier the better.

It really depends on how busy the park is and whether there are 1 or 2 shows that night. When we were there in April, there was 1 show and it wasn't close to full.
We will see how this month is.

We’ve watched it from near flame tree before, and had a pretty decent view

I've read posts from others who also report having a pretty nice view from Flame Tree's outdoor seating pavilions, which are on the far side of the lake.

In May 2017, we decided NOT to line up for Rivers of Light and hour and a half early like everyone else and chose to go on rides instead. Cast Members repeatedly tried driving us into the stand by line rather than letting us walk through the "open pass through" as shown on the map above. As it got closer to show time, they completely closed off the pass through and told us our only option other than to go into the stand by queue was to exit the park. We walked ALL the way around to get to Flame Tree BBQ and ended up watching from there while eating dinner. It obviously wasn't the way the show was intended to be seen, but was definitely worth it so we didn't have to wait in line for 90 minutes. I'm very resentful that Disney tried to direct our actions on that night. If we paid to get in, we should have been able to go freely to any open part of the park.

Exit the park?
