River Cruise- are all passengers ABD guests?

We are looking at the ABD river cruises for next summer. The boats are not really large, but are all the passengers ABD guests? Won't this be larger than usual ABD groups?
If mixed ABD and non, how is that handled?

We were on the Danube ABD this summer and the whole boat was ABD

We had 7 guides (sometimes there are 8) and so it's different than a traditional ABD where you just had your two guides

Disney has chartered those ships for the ABD sailing dates, only ABD guests are on board.

It should be pointed out that these ships are " Sailing " year round and are filled by other tour co.

That is correct. ABD charters ships from AMA, but the ABD cruise is all ABD. There are no non-ABD passengers on those sailings.

It's not mixed, so yes, the number of people is larger than you'd have on a "normal" ABD. The ship holds, I believe, up to 170 passengers. Take away 8 spots for the Adventure Guides, and you have 162 people max (we had slightly under 140). They split everyone up into varying groups of up to 40-ish folks, with 2 out of the 8 Guides leading each group. (Numbers may vary a bit, but that's the general idea). It works well, but it *is* different from your typical ABD. You miss out on some things that I love about ABD, such as the group becoming like a family, and getting to know your Guides well, but there are other pluses to make up for it. It's still a FABULOUS trip!
