I think the main reason it closed was an economic downturn, and new regulations meaning it would be too expensive to overhaul the park and bring it to current safety standards.

I used to LOVE the slide which dropped you off the end of a cliff, free falling about 5-6ft into the water. I'm amazed my parents ever let me on it, lol ;)

The parasites are called amoebic meningoencephalitis and Naegleria fowleri and have killed people who swim in standing water. http://digitaljournal.com/article/310329

we have great memories for this water park , playing with Goofy Minnie and Chip and Dale
wish it was still open
cycled up to it last year very very sad
 
I loved it with the climbing frame over the river water but I was abit young at the time to realise it wasn't very hygienic. I have a pin for there too so hoping it might be worth something in the future
