WE will get more tomorrow:cool1:

These are like the Holy Grail of pics. Did you strap a camera to Rudy's head and send him in?

Rudy help but when you have been here this long you can find ways to do things

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I sure wish my children could experience RC the way I did as a child. :sad1:

Nicely done!

Now, you need to try to find the Wilderness Swamp trail boardwalk.

Good sleuthing....but these pictures make me want to cry. A once lovely and thriving place now standing in decay. Waaaaaaaaaaaa!!:guilty:

We will but the Fort is so flooded right now I can go to the site next to me

Looks nice! How much are tickets to get in? :rotfl2:

Seriously, to this day I cannot understand how they just closed the gates and let that place rot away. It's sad!

Same here. I know every time we went to River Country it was packed.

Who knows.

It looks like they filled in the pool with dirt and the swimming area looks like fungus country.:scared1:

I miss RC too. But we went just before they closed it, and all 4 of us were terribly sick the day after. I heard that they closed it due to bacteria in the lake, and I believe it.

Wiping tears from my face. The fondest memory I have of River Country is when my wife, who does not swim, went down one of the slides. During the run, she lost her top and didn't notice until she noticed several males looking at her, the top fell down around her waist.

She quicly pulled it up and thought the incident was over until later that day. She was doing laundry and overheard two people discussing what a lovely site they had at River County that afternoon.

Then, she quietly turned around and left the laundry room. I had to go back and finish the washing and drying.

Tonite I will take a chance and remind DW of the incident. This happenned many many years ago.

Does seem like a terrible shame. :sad2:

Good job on the photos but also very sad. These photos serve as a reminder of how much things have changed since I was a youngster spending my summers at River Country. :cool1::banana:
