has anyone stayed in this resort? If so, what did you think? Any info would be appreciated!

It's a very nice property. The rooms were very well equipped with luxurious beds and spacious bathrooms. The staff were incredibly helpful, they went out of their way to anticipate your needs, the place was spotless.
The pools and grounds are great.
Maybe a 15 minute drive to the parks.
A great alternative if you don't want to stay at WDW.

The Ritz-Carlton is a gorgeous resort with the added bonus of being able to use the water park at the JW Marriott. For something really special give Norman's a try (a lovely, upscale dining experience headed by Chef Norman Van Aken).

The Ritz-Carlton feels a million miles away but don't be put off by it's location. The Grande Lakes Resort is actually an easy drive to just about anywhere. I loved the sense of being outside the hurry of the main theme park areas in a more relaxed atmosphere after busy days in the parks.

I've stayed there twice this year. It's a beautiful property with a very friendly staff. The food is great. My only complaint is that the beds are doubles instead of queens, and they have very few king rooms. I requested a king both times and didn't get it. On this last trip, the lady checking us in said that they have ordered more king beds, so I guess others had the same complaint.

We stayed there for 4 nights in January (King Room) at the amazing rate of $173 per night. We've stayed at some fabulous resorts, but this one is hard to beat. The newness of it all certainly didn't detract from its appeal, but the staff was in a class of its own. Everyone was efficient, friendly and went out of their way to make us feel truly important. Following many hotel stays I feel the urge to send feedback about my dissatisfaction, but can't ever be bothered once I return home - I'd rather forget! After staying at the Ritz Carlton, I felt compelled to send an email expressing my total satisfaction (and I received a lovely response thanking me for taking the time). Many other so called 'World Class' resorts could learn much from the RC.

Norman's was a tad disappointing, but my expectations were very high and they were clearly having a busy evening. The wine pairings consistently turned up at the wrong time and we waited far too long for our entrees. I will give it a second chance, though.

The Vineyard Grill and Fairways Pub (at the Golf Club) were surprise highlights.
