Risks?

I have absolutely no medical training and I’m trying my best to understand and follow Covid guidelines. I was wondering if someone could help me understand the risk of exposure in the following situations:

In line for Soarin’ when the person behind me has their mask on but it’s under their nose? What about Seven Dwarfs Mine Train? I’m trying to gauge the risk of indoor versus outdoor lines.

On the bus from the resort to the park? On the monorail?

Eating in a restaurant when the tables are a little to close for my comfort? What if the tables are properly distanced?

I plan to follow the guidelines as closely as possible but I can’t control others so I’m wondering how much their behavior can put my family’s health ta risk. My family is not in a high risk category for complications from Covid but we still avoid risks when we can.

I know that its safer to skip going to Disney but we have skipped everything since March. I’m trying to figure out how to get back to normal and remain safe at the same time.

go to the CDC guidelines for being inclosed, and that will be your guide
As far as the parks, they have been open for more than a month now, Universal and SW since June and no outbreaks have been linked to them

Thank you for the replies. I have decided not to go this fall. I don’t think that there is any way that I’ll enjoy the trip with so much anxiety about Covid. Hopefully we will be able to go next spring.

You and everyone else have skipped everything since March.
Its hard on everyone.
The risks are there especially in a state that has extremely high rates.
From your post it sounds as though you would not feel safe if others are not following the rules (I don't blame you). Its a good indication that you should skip it for the time being.

From what I've heard and seen from various YouTube videos, CMs are strictly enforcing covid guidelines.

This is true when the CM's see it but in a line at say Space Mountain it would be difficult to enforce.
Don't get me wrong I think the majority of people are being responsible anyways but I'm sure there are some who break the rules especially where they are not easily being caught.

I agree with what you are saying and I have decided not to go. However, one hard part in all of this is that not everyone has skipped everything since March. If they had then this would be easier. It’s hard to watch, listen to, or read about people out living it up because I want to be having fun too. I’m not disagreeing with your post at all. I’m just venting because I’m frustrated that others are getting back to normal and I’m still following the rules. I’m mad at myself for the constant, overwhelming anxiety that consumes every activity. It feels my family is watching from the sidelines while others are out having fun. In almost every situation that involves being around strangers (grocery shopping, etc) there are people who aren’t following the guidelines for one reason or another and it drives me crazy. I’m sorry for venting....just needed to share with people who would understand.

I agree its frustrating to see others going about normal activities and not being able to do them yourself.
I am in the same boat as I live in NYS. Only just now are more things starting to open.
Gym and bowling alleys just got the ok. Movie theaters are still not open.
Concerts cancelled, fairs cancelled, beaches closed.
My entire summer has been going to the pool at my farm daily.
I can deal with it and think ok well next summer things will be back on again but when I think about my parents and how there may not be a next summer to enjoy the things they missed this summer is what gets me emotional.
My sister is in A Quiet Place II which was supposed to come out March 20th 2020. Then it was pushed to Labor Day weekend.
Now its not until April 2021.
I had plans to go to Disney twice this year once in August and once in November/December after not having gone since July 2019 which 13 months was already killing me. Now it will be 2+ years before I go again.
Disney is my passion in life so its pretty hard but its just not possible to go seeing as how I'd have to quarantine after I get home and I live with my senior parents so I wouldn't want to take unnecessary risks.
So maybe its not hard on everyone but I'd say that many people are in the same boat.

I go by the 6-15 rule. Don't be within 6 feet of someone for more than 15 minutes. Of course there are other factors to lower the risk like if people are wearing masks and if your outside. The CDC stated being outdoors is least risk. You can go to disney and be outdoors most of the time. But everyone has to decide what is best for them.
